I read all of this talk on here about all the cool stuff people use but don't understand what all of it is like I have seen a boge rectangle thing on web sites but don't understand what it is? I saw these cool tanks ( I think ) on here that light up ( I love things that light up just for me lol ) but would have no idea what system it would go to. I have only been vaping like 3 weeks and when I find some good juices the next thing will be some cool gadgets to vape on but it all confuses me. Like what the hells a mod? Obviously a clearomizer must be a clear carto. Is that just so u can see how much liquid is left? I hate to sound annoying but I have to learn about these things some how. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yes, clearomizers are clear cartos... I think they are junk because you can't boil plastic cartos. Using only hot water that leads to gunk left behind which = shorter life. You want to know if your carto is drying up? Take the plug and throw it in a box somewhere for a rainy day and use a 510 drip tip with it. If it's dry on top it's dry on the bottom. Every couple hours I will add a few drops to top it off thus guaranteeing that it's not going to dry up. I think Clearos are silly.

Boges are the longest lasting cartos I have heard of outside of possibly resurrectors. I've heard of a BOGE that lasted 6 months with regular maintenance.

It depends on what kind of PV you have as to what you can put on it. If it's a 510 (EGO style PV) then you are in luck because that particular connection is the most common. You will have the most options as a result. If you have a smaller 808 (cigarette style PV) then you would probably have the least amount of versatility. I guess this post will get you thinking.

Gratz on quitting analogs.

MMS, I been at it just over a couple of months and I'm still somewhat confused. Here's the bottom line....it takes some time. Simply cuz it's electronics. That's why there are Engineers for such.

If you like gadgets, waste no time. Dig in and start reading, no one person can really steer you where to go. You sort of have to get on the "gadget trail" and figure out for yourself, with occasional bits of helpful advice here and there.

I would suggest when you find something you are intrigued with, go to YouTube and search, almost certainly there will be a video review of it there. That way you can actually see how it looks and works, not just read text or look at pictures for it.

A mod is short for "modified PV". Meaning, it is in evolution to something different - "bigger & better" is the implication. It also, usually means that the batteries are not only bigger but replaceable.

Good luck!

Thanks guys :) So a mod is like say I bought a joye 510 a mod would be something extra or new that can be used with the 510 to change or make it better?

A mod is kinda just an uber almost after-market inspired e-cig...Where e-cigs such as the joye 510, are designed and mass produced by companies for consumeristic purposes, mods have more of their roots in being designed and inspired by fellow vapors who are looking for more power, battery life, styling, quality, etc then what mass consumerism provides. Well that's kinda how I look at it...

Mods are anything that has been designed from scratch (not really, but it's used that way), anything that's modified from it's original design or purpose. They're also a really outdated social clique from, circa 1970s.

Some people also use the term "Mod" to mean modular. In this sense, mass produced items like the E-Power and the Mod-eGo are also "mods" because you can replace each separate part, instead of a whole battery-button-tube unit.

Technically, though, "mod" just means modified- like a hack- and typically involved re-purposing an item. See: Flashlight Mod.

As for tanks, you should try vaping with a Boge XL Cartomizer before you try a tank, just to see if the carto is what you like, if at all. There's also a but-load of stickies at the top of this and every other sub-forum here. Modding even has it's own series of sub-forums to explore.

I've tried atomizers, tanks, dripper attys, clearomizers, dual coil cartos, and finally stuck with Boge 2.0 cartos and an occasional Smoketech dual coil stainless carto.

I toss cartos after they begin to lose flavor. The ones I have discarded usually have some scorching if I pull the filler out and check it. I top off at least once an hour and carry a 3ml bottle in my pocket if I go out. Still, you eventually get discoloration around the coil on most. For that reason, I don't try to clean them. After all, a carto is only about $1.70 and if I get 5 or 6 days from it, I've gotten my money's worth.

The key to long life is the initial fill. Saturate it well and keep it topped off and moist and it will last a while.
