Sigh!!! I'm afraid small shops like the one I frequent wont be able to afford to stay in business. I suppose there might be a Marlboro vape juice in the market some day. :(

I guess I better seriously consider an RTA but even though I have read up everything I can find on them and watched the videos I need your advice. Right now I have enough ready made coils to last me for several months. I would like to buy an RTA to have on hand for after all this crap happens next month. I suppose I dont have to worry about wire and cotton since they are not used for vaping exclusively.

I am an MTL vaper. Not into clouds - TH & flavor are more important to me. My current juice is 50/50. I use 1.5 ohms coils @ 3.5v on a provari. I would like to maintain this with an RTA that I build, put the juice in the tank and be done. I can afford a moderate price. What do you think about the Bellus RTA or the icloudcig moradin?

Thanks everyone.
I agree with Two_Bears. I'm also a MTL vaper. I picked up some Kayfun Light Plus v2 clones made by EHPro. It seems to be by general consensus the best tank for MTL and can be had quite cheaply ($5-$15 ea). I found them on several US vendor sites as well as eBay.

In all honesty BeaO i woukd avoid the Bellus like tge plague.

From your description of the way you prefer to vape i would recommend the Kayfun lite plus
Or The Taifun GT-II.

Resistance is determined by the length of the wire in the coil.

I use 26 gauge Kanthal, and a 2 mm coil diameter each wrap is about .1 ohms.

If you want a1.2 ohm 12-13 wraps.

If yoy use a 2.4 mm coil use maybe 9-10 wraps.

Or you can use 28 gauge with 8-9 wraps.
Thanks for the suggestions. I checked those two out. The taifun is way out of my league price-wise and the kayfun tank is mostly metal - I kind of like glass tanks because it's easier to see how much juice is in there. Any other suggestions?

Kayfun mini 3 is also a good MTL tank with glass. Have a couple myself that I picked up on eBay from a vendor that modded them slightly. Kayfun Mini V3 Style 4 RTA 1:1,316 SS, Widest Screws, Best Vers. & Fast Shipping You can ready the description yourself and see if that's something you like. I bought one, tried it and went back for another.

You might look at the Kanger STM Clearomizers & Tanks | Kanger Subtank Mini | VaporBeast (code yeahbaby gets you 10% off). Spare RTA bases, glass tanks and o-rings can be found at fasttech. (be sure to get the authentic bases)

I've only been using mine for a week but am still kicking myself for not trying them sooner. Very easy to install the coil, wick, prime, fill and vape. The AFC (air flow control) can be set for a great MTL vape and flavor is outstanding! :thumb:

Also great tanks. Been using my RBA exclusively as of late.

I have been a MTL vapor forever using the old style vision vivi novas and kayfun lites. I saw so many posts on FT about the Bellus so I checked out a video and figured I could build that. It literally takes me less than a couple minutes to build and wick single coil with the purchased 1.2 ohm ud coils and KO gen do. The airholes can be closed down quite a bit. I bought five of them and will buy more. I have found I actually like the DL hit from it at about 8.5/9w. Wonders never cease.

I like that one and it's affordable for me. So I looked up wire and rebuilding and it seems easy enough. And I already have the tools from building miniature houses and lots of every gauge syringes from my working at a veterinary clinic before I retired.

One post I read said to use a 16 gauge needle to wrap the wire. It also said to check the ohms I end up with. So do I need to buy an ohm meter (dont know if I can afford) or can I experiment using the instructions posted by Two Bears?

You can swap the middle section out for the clear poly, or swap all three out and use the full poly M5. I use KFs almost exclusively these days, and all mine are set up one or the other, for the same reason. The full M5 makes them a lot lighter as well :)

Ohm readers are very cheap. You can also check the ohms on your device, but I recommend a reader as it's easier to adjust the coils on it. Don't know what Two Bears instructions consist of, but I'm sure it's good advice. :)

Yes, ohm readers are very cheap, AND, I found them to be about as accurate as a mod reading. :?:

The point is to have several ways to check the ohms. Most read to the hundredths. When checking mine, I do a final trim to make sure all excess wire is trimmed, check that the screws are firmly tightened, coil is in the position that I want, and then fire the mod to get the reading. Then I try it on another.

Coils are surprisingly easy to make. I started by using the little blue screwdriver, then drill bit, and now I have the coiller kit. I pretty much do 2.5 or 3 mm. Actually, I have come to the point that I do the same number of wraps each time. I don't need a calculator.

Once the coil is good, I wick it. A lot of different rebuildables require a sliiigghhhtly different wicking length. I just tend to use the same RTAs now. The Kayfun-style deck is simple.

Building is relaxing and the FDA can't mess with the parts. I have not used a factory coil in 2ish years.

Anyway, it isn't hard at all. Good luck!

And that brings me to the nicotine issue. The local shop where I buy my juice adds the nic in it for me but I'm worried about what will happen starting in August. It's a small local business. I wonder if it will even be able to survive the new rules. Right now I still need 12mg nic and working my way down. Seeing as I cant do without a good TH I doubt I'll be able to go below 4-6mg. I dont want a government type telling me, AGAIN, what I can and cannot do so I think I better buy some while I can. Is Wizard Labs still the best place?

Hi BeaO, I just picked up 5 liters of 100mg nic from RTS Vapes for less than $200 shipped. They're current price is $49 per liter. If you are placing your first order as I was, you get 20% off your entire order with the code "FIRSTORDER". I have broken down, bottled & stored my purchase in the freezer. I can say the nic was clean, clear & smooth after testing. I also ordered VG & PG at the same time and am pleased with my purchase. They offer a 30 day 100% guarantee on their nic. Worth a look...

Thanks for the support vandal.

Yesterday i switched out my Kayfun Monster Mini V3 base for tge Kayfun lite plus base. Every now and then I seem to want the MTL experience.

The good thing about most Kayfun attys tge bases, barrels, and tanks Ir bell caps are interchangeable.

Get a few lite plus tanks and a FEW spare bases and mix up your vaping style as you like.

Don't remember who but one ECF member got a 5 mm tube and put it over tge regular chimney and sonehow put a Kayfun bell cap over The M Tank and he had a Kayfun that held almost 10 ml of Juice.

Yoy can get clones of both on Fasttech.com.

My Kayfun Monster Mini V3 was only $5.43 and works great.

It only holds 2.5 mls. Buf getva Kayfun lite plus and then you can use the rounded bell cap with Nano chimney. Holds 2.9-3 ml. Or use tge standard chimney with the M Tank and holds 5 mls.

Or DO like another ECF member go to hobby lobby for a 5mm tube. And connect tge M Tank with bell cap and you can have an Atty tgT holds about 10 mls of Juice.

Yoy can also get clones of Taifun GT-II at Fasttech too.

At Fasttech yoy can pay via Credit card, pay pal, or bitcoin.

Have bought from Fasttech many times.

I wrap 2 mm coils. Even 2.5 and maybe 3 mm will fit.

If you use va MECH i woukd HIGHLY recommend an Ohm reader.

I use 26 gauge Kanthal. 8 wraps around a 2 mm rod gives me .78-.84 ohms. Tge sweet spot for my Juice.

If memory serves Fasttech had ab ohms reader for $4.80.

I kinda think you were pulling his leg :D amber is good, blue is good and I even have some of mine in clear. I wrap ALL of my bottles of nic in aluminum foil so in my case color really doesn't matter. The most important thing is, they need to be Glass.

@BeaO check out My Blogs as to how I store my nicotine Just scroll down to how I store it and also further down to how I mix it. Hopefully it will help you a bit.
Nope....not at all. It's not the first time I've seen amber mentioned; just the first time I thought to ask this question because amber seems to be the color mentioned a lot of late when it comes to DIY.
I bought these bottles waaaaaaaaaaay back when I thought I was going to DIY & I use to buy Alhusion juice which also comes in blue glass bottles which I cleaned out & kept.

Not pictured- the bigger bottles that are blue
