Hi,
First I'd like to introduce myself. I'm new here, been vaping for three months and haven't had a cig since!

I'm having an issue right now. The clearomizer of my Kanger Evod is screwed on too tight. I've been trying to undo it for an hour and I'm starting to get blisters! I've even tried using pliers to hold on to the middle metal part and screw of the clearomizer that way, to no avail. It's really on there! Does anyone have any tricks or advise on what to do? I'm starting to get quite frustrated, and I don't have a backup.

Thanks!

How tight did you screw it on? Wow!

I usually screw mine on so lightly that they slightly wobble at times.

It's good to under screw rather than over screw. In the days to come, if and when you upgrade and buy, say an MVP, you can cause damage and unnecessary problems by over tightening. Also, with some clearomizers, a lose screw can help with air flow, which may give you a better vaping experience.

Welcome and Happy Vaping :toast:

This is solid advice. Many (most?) battery units use brass for the threaded connectors, even if they look silver (chrome-plating). Tank connectors are generally made of steel and will strip / pull / cross-thread those brass connectors a lot more easily than you might imagine. Some of the higher-end battery units and many mods that use separate batteries use connectors made of SS, which is much preferable if you can afford it.

If it ever happens again, put the whole deal in the freezer for at least 6 hrs and try it - if you still can't get it off, you can use a butane lighter to heat the bottom ring of your tank where the threads are located for about 10-15 seconds and that should do it in all but the most extreme cases (just try not to burn yourself).

Glad you got it sorted out, best of luck in the future.
