I've an I7 running at 3.75 with try to lock checked, priority slightly higher checked; one cpu on 7 and one on 8 and 68000 video gpu at -1
I can't get over 8830....Any ideas how to increase ? nothing else really running other than normal services and no applications.
win7 64bit
FWIW I am using a passkey...

Yep top 100 in 1.3 days :headbang:

Congrats Harmonic on the 3 mill.

I've been quietly folding away over here for a bit now. I finally cleaned up my 660 TI and it is running smoothly again.

I shut down the SMP/CPU folding to save a bit on power. and guess what.. my PPD with only GPU folding is higher than it was running both. So yeah 82k PPD on 1 GPU slot :headbang:

Timi, on an I7, I would think it better to just run one smp slot and set it at the default -1. I'm not sure what video card you have, but it's usually best to leave it set at -1 in the gpu slot as well. No need to use the "try to lock" setting.

Any time you change settings, pause your folding clients first. Then change settings, save, close the program and restart it. Your new setting should take effect on the next WU you pick up.

Sashwa, I'm just cruising up next to you to bring you some coffee and a danish ;) Woohoo for top 100!

Yeah, just use F@H default settings, and add the client-type advanced flags

Thanks, you mentioned several things I wasn't doing and will implement immediately. Never thought of pausing the folding jobs. My video is an ATI 6800 and it's running at 987 mhz. Not terribly overclocked at all. I have had the CPU up at 4.0 since last night and no problems yet. I did notice the cooler is running a bit faster but this is the first liquid system I've ever had.

Okay I did as suggested and went back to defaults but I'm having some confusion on the client type flags now, can you elaborate just a bit? If we're posting this in the wrong area please correct me. I just got kinda lost on my PPD thing, Only 80 WUs but tons of points so far and I'd like to see us higher in the teams :)

Nach, will that do any good for Tim's vid card? Or should he add that flag to both SMP and GPU slots?

Timi, maybe this screenie of my slot config will help as a visual. You'll also want to add another section of :

Name passkey
Value (your passkey number)

Highlight your slot on the config page and double click it to get to the screen where you add the flags.

Default

Go to folding slot config screen.

Add extra slot options.

Name: client-type
Value: advanced
In no option for passkey so I'll let this perc a while and see what we get. Thanks
