Finally situated in my new house in Germany w/ internet. Folding resumed as of right now.

Question... Is it ok to share folding on my facebook and other places and have people join the ECF team even if they are not members of the ECF forums?

I've just starting folding (had to fold the washing first ) My question is, I very rarely turn my computer off but I do make "sleep" at night... would that interfere with the process?

When it "sleeps" it puts the CPU and GPU off line so no folding will occur then.

OK thanks. Then I suppose I would also have to go into the energy settings of my Windows, since I'm sure they're set to go to sleep after a certain time.

The only thing I allow to "sleep" is the monitor. Folding needs the CPU, obviously, and the GPU if you have a Fermi style GPU, and the disk drive to stay awake. Another trick I used when I was a SETI contributor was to clean off the desktop and just use a plain background to save cycles on the GPU.

That will work! I turn off the monitor when I'm not using the machine for whatever just to reduce the heat load in the room, and it's an LCD monitor, LOL.
