I agree with Pure Khaos. If you're looking for an ecig that looks like an ecig then go for the 510. The problem with all the smaller ecigs is that you'll have to carry a truckload of batteries with them. With a 510 you could just buy 2 mega batteries and they'll last you all day long.

Also with the 510 you have a massive range of accessories.

Actually, while we're on the subject. Why don't you just skip the newbie part and just go straight for a prodigy, or a copper or some other 6v capeable device - you'll only end up doing this in the end anyway :)

Go with 7-11's brand xhaleo. I got a kit with a plastic case, usb charger, 5 carts, a battery and and atomizer for $20. This this is a vapor beast!!! I hate the pre-filled carts, but add your own e-juice and you'll be happy. They also have an exchange program for a year with your receipt...atty or battery dies and they switch it out for free! I think these are similar to the health-e, luci, and Blu. I modded mine with a metal cart and it rocks! My 901 has been in a drawer for three weeks. I only got about a third of the vapor and throat hit from my 901.

Vegas, if you're like 99% of us you will soon find the "I want it to look like a regular cigarette in size and shape" thing will pass very quickly. We all start out thinking that and then get fed up with the battery life and realize that you don't smoke these the same anyway. Also it's kind of cool having people ask you what the heck you are smoking and you can educate them. I agree with Andy though if you must have close to regular cig then get the 510. Lots of ways to upgrade with that.

I read that smoking-everywhere.com has the super mini (10mm) E-cigs called the GOLD edition. any truth to this?

Yes. I have one of these kits and they look like traditional cigarettes. I have found that for me, these batteries last longer with consistent vaping than my 510 batteries. One thing I do like about them is that they are auto batteries, which more closely replicates smoking for me and comes in handy when I am doing something else that requires both hands.

I do love my 510 kit though, it is thinner and not as heavy as the super e.cig. I also like having the manual battery option as I can take larger drags as the batteries don't automatically shut off. The manual batteries are completely sealed so I don't have to worry about flooding them if I choose to drip either.

There hasn't been a noticeable difference between the atty's for me either. I think the rn4081 is great and is often underrated and over-criticized. Likely the biggest difference I notice is that the super e.cig atty gets covered up by the carts while the carts for the 510 do not. The carts fit inside the atty. No advantage or disadvantage to this as they can both be messy if the carts are overfilled.

It is just my opinion that either of these PV are great for getting started, though from what I have noticed through other posts here, it is likely you will end up wanting something bigger and better. Just my :2c:

I agree that you'll probably not be happy with a super mini as far as battery life/ cart size. That's what I started with. It was enough to keep me from wanting a cigarette, but wasn't long before looking for something better.

If you just have to have a super mini, smoke-light.com has some kits for reasonable prices and free shipping if your order is over $45. They've treated me right.

But to keep from getting discurraged maybe a 901 or the 510 would be a better bet. I personally prefer my pen-style for good battery life between charges and huge cartridge capacity. (Note my user name), love my pen style.
