Help for a friend with Subox Mini kit

So there is someone in a local Facebook group having problems and is fairly new. With me never using the subox, I don't have a clue how to help, so I am asking y'all.

He has that subox Mini kit. He said in his video he dropped it. There doesn't appear to be anything visibly wrong and it doesn't rattle with no battery. As soon as he puts a battery in, it rattles a ton. Almost like the contacts aren't holding the battery securely. Plus it doesn't turn on with a battery in, which makes me think there isn't a connection with the battery.

Has this happened to anyone with the subox Kit? Any ideas for a possible solution for him? We all start somewhere, but I can't personally help him with it.

I would recommend that he not put a battery in it until it has been taken apart by someone fimilar with electronics repar and fixed.

You could have someone qualified take it apart and look at it to see if it can be fixed otherwise it is likely needs replaced.

The rattling could be a whole lot of things from a broken board to a button breaking to a wire coming loose and just about anything that is in there, maybe try to get it exchanged or repaired under warranty if there is one.

Connection tab/post opposite the Battery door has likely Broken or displaced.
Possibly lost/loose spring.
Do not insert battery until corrected or replace unit.
