SS mesh is great for clean flavor and it lasts a long time. It does however have a learning curve. Took me a few weeks of working on it and trying different things to start getting some dependability form my Genny builds. There are also a number of different ways to work with it. Google and a lot of research will be your friend here
The biggest issue is shorts from the coil though the mesh and the deck to ground. The RSST has a insulated wick hole which eliminates this.
This video is a good starter on one way to do it without oxidizing the wick. She pulses the shorts out. I do it the same way. Little details will make a big difference though.
I put the biggest drill bit that fits into the wick hole and build the coil on that and take out the drill. I roll the mesh so it goes into the coil snug but not too tight. Too tight and you get too many shorts. Too lose and you get a metallic taste.
After that it's all about handling the shorts.
