Hi, Ive had my M16 mechanical mod for a few months now, and at first it was working and vaping like a dream. But as of late it began to misfire. My firing button gets warm, and its not hitting hard as it should be. Ive noticed the silver plating on the pins have began to wear off and the copper is becoming exposed. The atomizer I use on it is my nimbus, and normally build a dual coil set up on it. Usually ranging from 0.4 - 0.8 ohm resistance. Before you go ahead and try to educate me on sub-ohm vaping, I already know, and take all the necessary precautions. I have cleaned out everything, from the pins, to the threading, the o-rings, buttons, the insulator and center pin of my nimbus, and even applied noalox to the threading of the mod.

I was just wondering if anyone had some suggestions to get my mod to fire like the day I got it. Maybe sand off the remainder of the silver plating? Maybe my batteries has had the life vaped out of them and I need to replace them? Maybe the atomizer/ insulator needs replacing?

All feedback welcome and appreciated, Thanks guys :)

Silver makes a huge difference to copper at the load. My Cronus with my Helios build has a load of 3.90 at .4 ohm. My Nzonic with the same Helios has a load of 3.4. Maybe there is a way to have the pins re-plated. That sucks that the silver has come off :(

yeah, i know there is a person that sells FULL SILVER pins, but works out of Malaysia, and the pins are quite pricey. Lol. I just thought that maybe because the plating was inconsistent, that the voltage would be less? Im not electrician by any means, but it sounds like a plausible theory. Lol

I'm not a electrician either. It wouldn't hurt to try. The worst thing that most likely could happen is that the load would remain the same.

It may be the floating center pin. My m16 top cap floating pin got stuck once and didnt screw down all the way making full contact. Another thing could be the type of cleaner or polish you use on your device. I know that certain things like Rennisance wax will create a very thin layer over threads and contacts. try using rubbing alcohol on all threads and pins to remove any residue layers. Let us know when u figure out the problem. Also on a side note where did you find those 100% silver pins? I wouldnt mind replacing mine as my silver plating is almost gone.
