Help! Hardly any vapor...

My husband and I both bought ecigs last night. I got the Smoking Everywhere gold and my husband got the Fifty-One Trio. His works great, is vaping a lot. Mine is sucking immensely. I charged the batteries overnight and put on a fresh cartridge. It vapes a little bit, but not nearly as much as my husband's does. It also blinks sometimes after I take a hit which is supposed to indicate that I'm taking in too much at one time. I'm really confused as to why this isn't working right.

Please help!

I'm guessing you have an automatic battery, which means you do not have a button to push, and the battery is activated by the act of inhaling.

If so, take a look at the thread linked in my signature below.
It goes into a discussion of manual and automatic batteries that might interest you.

Now, if you have automatic batteries it will probably take some practice to get it working good.

Stand in front of a mirror and watch the LED as you take drags.
You want to see how hard you need to draw on it to get that LED lit.
And you want to see how hard you need to draw on it to keep it lit as long as possible.

For some automatic batteries your only choice is to do consecutive short drags.
And it is often said that a quick short initial draw (primer puff) followed by a real drag will work well.

Most people recommend slower, longer draws.
I recommend getting a manual battery.

I agree with DC - it probably the technique needs a bit of refinement - they don't all work the same way, and the auto batts tend to be more annoying (imo) as far as learning curves go.
If you amend your technique and it STILL isn't working right then you may have to return it to the vendor and see if its a functional issue with the unit itself.
Normally Id say junk it and get something better but I know those smokingeverywhere kits are hideously expensive and can't blame you for wanting to make it work RIGHT and not waste all that cash.

Thanks for the advice! I actually got it from a gas station in NC and it only cost me $60 so it was WAY cheaper than I would have paid at the mall or from the website. I will probably be getting a new one. However, I found that if I don't take such violent draws (thought I might not be doing it hard enough) it works decently. It still sucks though and I'm thinking about getting another one.

Any suggestions for one that works better than this POS?

I'm also biting the inside of my lip. Hard.

Make sure you're taking loooong drags. You have to do a long, slow inhale. At LEAST 5 seconds. The other thing you can do with the Gold is drip the liquid DIRECTLY on the atomizer coil. (That little silver wire that you can see when you pop off the cartridge.)

I also had a SE Gold, and once you get a 510, you and I will probably share the same forehead 'tattoo'. You know, the one you're going to get when you smack yourself in the forehead with it.

The 'pre-filled' carts are worth about 30 drags before they dry out. It's the LIQUID that makes them work so...

If you CAN, get that thing back to the supplier, kick him in the man-parts and get a refund. (Or, maybe you should get the refund first, THEN kick 'em!!)

THEN, GO TO CIGNOT AND GET YOURSELF A 510!!!!

Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. has a great starter kit for $35. The 510 is a good place to start but since you've already kinda started go for their eGo kit! The eGo is a 510 on steriods. The batt life is out of this world! You won't be sorry and be sure and order some liquid for an your husband.

eGo is going to be my next purchase, but DAMN $35 for a 510 starter kit, that's an awesome price, OP. Good looking out, stover.p.

OP, you absolutely won't be dissapointed with a 510 at all. I think I said in another thread today too, get you guys' some sample juice packs of different flavors, just to have for when those carts run dry...which they do.

good luck and keep us posted :D
