I vaped for the first time today on my VaporKing, and while I think it's a great PV (I realize I don't have anything to compare it to, but humor me for a minute), I think I'm having serious issues with the taste. I don't believe that it's V4L's flavors...I think I just cannot handle the taste of PG. Is that possible? I thought PG was supposed to be odorless and tasteless?

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone out there can tell me if they found that VG tasted better to them? I'm very sensitive to any sort of 'chemical' flavor and NEED my vapor to taste natural. I realize that this is going to seem nitpicky to a lot of people, but I'm very sensitive to flavors and smells that don't seem 'natural'. Have been since I was a kid.

Can anyone who is as sensitive to chemical flavors/tastes and who has found a great juice that tastes natural make any recommendations?

By the way, I plan on keeping my VK (may need to mod it out, tho). Steve's customer service is absolutely amazing.

Thanks so much!

How new is your atomizer? A lot if the time, attys are shipped with some sort of primer which tastes TERRIBLE. There are a few ways to get rid of it, but the best way I have found is to just keep smoking it, and eventually, it gets a lot better. It helps to direct drip a couple of times onto the atty as well.
If you can't stand the taste, just don't inhale it fully, just suck it into your mouth and blow it out. After a couple of hours or so, the taste is gone, and you'll be loving it!

What flavor are the cartridges?

Well, I've tried the following:

0mg Coffee, which is bearable
0mg Pineapple (makes me want to hurl)
0mg Cappuccino (ditto)
0mg M'Boro (I nearly did hurl)
6mg Cappuccino - The best out of all of them, but can still taste weird chem taste

I think the nicotine in the 6mg definitely makes it taste better, but there's still this weird taste that I can't quite put my finger on, with all of them.

Then again, every time I taste or smell something weird, and I tell my husband that I can smell/taste it, he tells me that I'm out of my mind.

I think I have the 'Princess and the Pea' complex with chemicals.

It's a VaporKing therefore it uses a cartomizer. Don't blow it out or you'll end up with a dry cart and no juice in there. You may be allergic to PG or have a sensetivity to it. I'm unsure. RY4 did not agree with me, at least the cart didn't. I'd suggest try the menthol or Marlboro and see if it isn't the flavors you have doing it.

After reading your post above me, the lower the nic the more flavor. Perhaps the 6mg sits better with you. I found the menthol has absolutely no weird taste to it but I'm not much for cappuccino (go figure, I drink coffee 24/7)

Then there's the whole, you're way over sensetive, VG doesnt give a whole lot of flavor/throat hit compared to PG. Maybe that's where you need to be at.

Remember, take a few primer puffs, in your case, maybe take 10 to let the flavor settle in a bit better. Puff, dont inhale, puff, don't inhale etc about 10 times and see if it helps. Sometimes I get a harsh taste at first until it's broken in a bit.

If this still doesn't help get a bottle of VG liquid and rinse out one of the cartomizers, dry it out, blow it out from the mouthpiece end, hairdryer a couple seconds and then fill with your VG liquid.

Your mom said not to say...
Get some juice that is made with VG instead of PG, or make your own with VG instead of PG. By the looks of the low level of nicotine 0mg you are using you could just buy some VG and some flavor and mix your own juice. If you want nic you can get unflavored VG premixed then just add what flavor you want. That's if you find it's the PG which some people do have allergies to if your hypersensitive to chems to start with that is what I would look at first.

Please bear with me, because I'm brand new to this...I'm going to ask a couple of questions that may seem a bit...well, stupid.

1) I have a Vapor King, which has disposable cartomizers. Does this mean that I'm going to have to puff of the primer every time I put on a new cart? I will seriously throw up if I have to do that with every new cart.

2) Where is the atty on the cart? Isn't it inside of the cartomizer? How do I get to it?

Thanks so much for your patience.

Refer to my above post, I believe the advice about getting the primer off and blowing them out etc etc are for the 3 piece models (901, 510) etc where they have a separate atty and cart. Don't blow out the VK you'll end up with a very dry cart that really WILL taste horrible. Try some of my suggestions and see how you go.

oh, and to answer your question about pg and vg.
i find that vg is a bit sweeter...its also alot thicker than pg.
pg doesnt really have a flavor...should be tasteless and odorless...im still convinced its the primer you're tasting.

edit: ooops, cartomizer, disregard my last post

I'm thinking that you're right. It's probably primer, which is bothersome to me because I have disposable carts. If this is going to be on every new cart I use, it's going to be sucky. :( Granted, I plan on refilling, so it'll only be when I get a new one.

I know... I'm a big baby.

LOL! That is one nice thing about asking a question here. You certainly don't have to wait long for an answer! :D

I'm trying the puff, puff, puff without inhaling. We'll see how that pans out.

I'll order some VG juice and try that. Any suggestions?

Go to a hobby lobby or michaels, get Loranns flavoring in the flavor you like, get some Glycerin, I use Wiltons. Mix your own, since you don't use nic. I use about 1ml to test flavorings, with no nic I'd use 1ml of the glycerin and 3 drops of flavor to start, add more flavor if needed.
Oh oh steer clear of any of the flavors with oil in them, I believe spearmint and something else has oil.
If you really want it now I have 2 bottles from Walmart, Mccormicks flavor, a French vanilla and a Raspberry. Both taste awesome they just need a bit more than 3 drops since their not as potent as Loranns and they're cheap in the err sugar and cakemix aisle?
