Hello,

I accidentally put my boyfriend's e-cigarette in the washer (guess I didn't check the pockets thoroughly enough) and now, predictably, the atomizer doesn't seem to be working as before... Jury's still out on whether or not the battery that was washed is still working (we're waiting for it to dry before recharging).

Rather than buy a whole new kit we thought it would be cheaper to just replace the atomizer... He has a Trio Fifty-One kit and unfortunately, I looked on their website and they don't sell just the atomizer. However, I know from looking around here that there are certain model types and parts from other retailers may work. So:

- Does anyone know what model # the Trio Fifty-one is and where I could get a compatible atomizer?

- Has anyone washed one of these things before? If so, did the washed battery ever recover?

Thank you so much in advance for any help!!

Did you let the atomizer completely dry out overnight before trying it? I know some people soak their attys in things like soda and everclear or even wash them out with water but they usually blow them out and let them dry out over night. I don't know however if the the detergent would mess it up. I would make sure first though its completely dry before trying. Also The Trio looks exactly like the Smoking Everywhere E-cig I had first bought Which I believe is an RN4081. I didn't last too long with it though.

Thanks so much for all the quick responses!!

The atomizer seems to be hitting a little now but he says there's still a funny taste so I'd still like to buy him a new one if I can find out what model it is... still waiting to check out the extra battery. Wakadoo, we probably should have let it dry before he tried it but I didn't post this 'til after he'd started "smoking" it again... oh well. It seems pretty dry now.

It's not a cartomizer as doots suggested (the two pieces are definitely separate and the carts are sold separate) and I know it's not an m401 b/c that's the model I've ordered and I researched all the parts of the m401 pretty well. I will check out whether it might be the RN4081. If anyone else who happens upon this knows for sure what parts it uses, please let me know!

Thank you!!

judging by what I saw from googling trio fifty one If this is in fact what you have:

TRIO Starter Kits - No Second Hand Smoke

What I got was the Smoking Everywhere Gold kit and the atomizer looks like:

Smoking Everywhere Gold 3.0 Atomizer - ECigarettesChoice.com

They look identical. If it is in fact an RN4081 you should be able to find an atomizer for it. Personal experience though, I HATED my SE. One of the dumbest mistakes I've ever made. Just an option but Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. has Joye 510 kits for 35 bucks. That and some liquid and you're set.

Sure ya can! :) From what I had been reading there's a "trick" to getting decent vapes off of RN4081's. I never could get the hang of it although I only lasted 2 days with mine before I said screw it. There's just soooooo many better options out there. Hell of a lot CHEAPER too!

Yes, that is what it looks like! It must be an RN4081. Awesome job, thanks so much for the help!

Wackadoo, the link you posted is the correct one for the e-cigarette he has. Thanks for the advice - he likes the Trio b/c he can buy carts locally but I personally am not into it, so I hear you! I ordered the m401 Dragon for myself but it was a presale so I haven't gotten it yet.

Thank you again, you guys have been so helpful!

No problem, glad to actually be of help! I've been helped by so many others its great to pay it forward. As for your boyfriend and his choice of the Trio that's cool too. I just had a hard time using my SE and totally got tired of the auto batteries cutting off and the carts not lasting. I read and read and read and decided to go with a 510 and just loved it from there. Also depending on how much your BF vapes, a few carts might not be enough. I went from carrying around 1 or 2 3ml bottles to carrying around to carrying 6 to 7 6ml bottles of different flavors READY for whatever craving hits :D!

First of all, the battery and atty will probably work fine anfter they dry out. Just let them sit over night and try it in the morning. It looks like it is a 4081 and those parts are available everywhere. if your atty looks like this The Better Way To Smoke - RN4081 Atomizer then just buy a couple of these, or you can get a couple of atty's and a new e-cig as well.

Wow, thanks optsmk - the link you posted is about half the price of the one on the SE site. I went ahead and ordered a replacement part from the one you posted. You guys rock!

Wakadoo - he only goes through about 1 cart/day so I it works out pretty well. He bought it nearly a month ago and hasn't had a regular cigarette since so I guess something must be working! So far the only problem he's had with it has been, uh, me putting it in the washing machine.

I'd go back to their website and use the "contact us" and shoot them an e-mail, Ask them what their atomizer is called? If they don't sell atomizers, ask them "who" does, so you can replace it? Afterall, sooner or later his atomizer/battery is gonna go out and need to be replaced. They're all disposable products.

They seriously don't expect you to use THAT one forever and don't expect people to buy a new starter kit just to replace the atty. If so, that's ludicrous! Every Supplier I know of, has replacement atomizers for the products they sell,

If the people who sold you this product, can't provide this info, for you, I would seriously look into finding a different supplier who sells a similar e-cigarette for your bf, who DOES provide replacement parts for their e-cig starter kits.

Best way to know for sure, is to go back to the site where you bought it from, send them an email and go from there.

HOPEFULLY, it'll still work after it'd dried out- but I wouldn't wait too long to find out about atty's for it, If it were me, I'd send them an email right now , and then I'd start looking for another place to get e-cigarettes and supplies from, :)

Thanks MickiO - we did email the supplier and from what I understand they basically said to go back to the store where we got it and they could get replacement parts for us... however, the atomizer that optsmk linked me to was only $12 so I just ordered that one as I figured it would be quicker. Their site does sell replacement batteries but not atomizers which I do think is odd... but since they can obviously be ordered from other suppliers I'm not too concerned. It's working OK right now but there's still a "funny taste" so... the new one is on the way :)

Thank you!!

Oh Good MLUlalume, I'm so glad to hear that you were able to find another atty somewhere else. (That is odd they don't carry attys)

I don't want to throw a wrench into anything, but do you know for certain, these will fit the batteries he uses, right?, if not, ya might order some, to be safe.;)

You can always use rubbing alcohol on his atty to help get rid of the "Funny taste" if it gets to be too much of a problem before the new one arrives. :)
