Hello everybody, I'm new to not only this forum but to any forum so please excuse any mistakes. I was searching for solutions to my issue when I came across this link so hopefully you all can offer some assistance. In short a bought my ipv D2 just about 3 months ago & have had no problems to speak of until 2 days ago after using my mod earlier in the day I went to use it again & found my screen was lit up with the code "SX1 30H V3.4" displayed. It won't power on, fire, or power down unless I remove the battery. Once battery is replaced the display goes right back to that code. Same if battery is removed & only plugged in via charge cord. One thing to mention besides that is a day prior to this happening I happened to smell what smelt like coils getting hot & the display was lit up but nobody & nothing was touching it or the buttons. I've made sure all the mod was clean & no buttons sticking & all contacts were clean. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

Ok, what that message is telling you is the mod has a SX130H chip installed-- that's right for the iPV D2-- and it is running firmware version 3.4. What you're seeing is something it is supposed to display every time it cold boots. What's happening is it is hanging in the boot track and not going any farther. You'll find the latest firmware upgrade here. First take the battery out and let it sit for a couple hours at least, maybe over night, to make sure all the capacitors on the board are discharged. Then put the battery in and see if it will boot. If not, get it connected to your computer, hit that link, and try reloading the firmware. If none of that works, I am afraid it's bricked.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I've had the battery out close to 24 hours. After reading your suggestion I put the battery back in & unfortunately the screen lit up with the same code. So next step would be to try connecting to the computer & upgrading correct? I'm not familiar with the steps to do this, could you please tell me how to do this? I've plugged my iPV D2 into the computer last night & it didn't recognize my mod. Thank you again for your input!

OP, you mention no buttons are stuck. If the fire button were stuck however, this would be the result. Realizing the original post is old just posting for anyone else that may have a similar issue.
It's likely a sticky fire button in need of a jarring or cleaning.
BTW. The barrel jack used for charging on board is not compatible with usb for updating firmware. Cheers.
