Help! Joye 510 Newb Q's

I have a lot of questions but I'll start with the immediate concerns...

I just started two days ago and it appears that I'm melting my carts. Basically, it looks like two tiny little chips on the end. I don't want to smoke plastic.

Is this common? Or what am I doing wrong? I'm not drawing on it for more than 5 seconds at a time but it tends to get pretty hot.

Also, when I pull out the cart there is some juice on the exterior of the section that slides into the atty. Is this normal? There seems to be a little leakage as well.

They leak and most people stop using them pretty soon after the initial kit. Definitely look into dripping or cartomizers. You might also eventually want to look at another battery setup like the Ego, it has a larger battery and will give you a more satisfying vape than the 510. I started with 750 mah egos, then moved to the 1000 mah ego t batteries and now I have moved to the Silver Bullet and boy it hits hard.

I'm standing up for the poor old carts. I used them for 6 months before I accidently found the "tank" kinda cart I use now (BreezEsmokes - Premium Electronic Cigarettes) (and yes, this "tank" can be used with a regular 510 atty)
anyway, I didn't have big leak problems...I never melted any. I never modded them either. I did have to fill them numerous times a day unlike what I use now. I do have a friend who was always melting hers. I think we decided that she was not letting the atty rest and causing them to get too hot and melt the cart, but I will ask her and correct myself if I am wrong. I carry 3 pvs around to avoid hot attys.
I just hate to see carts (and 510's) beat up all the time. I'm not saying they are better than cartos, but I hate cartos <g>
just another opinion to confuse the OP!
Re: liquid on outside of cart, I am not sure if it is normal, but it happens to me too. I don't see that it causes me any problems though

I started on Joye 510s, moved on to Riva (eGo like), still use carts. I've used stock carts with blue foam and later moved on to 1 ml clear carts that hold twice as much. It comes down to personal choice. Cartos ought to be easier on the go since they make a 2 piece e-cig, less to carry, but I've found the filler inside charred. So cartos have to be topped off along with way to prevent it.

I have not had burning issue with carts, even with 3.7 volt Riva. Juice and condensation do get into the air channels on the side of stock carts. You should take out the cart and blow them in tissue. If the carts are not overfilled, there shouldn't be this problem. Condensation has to do with the type of juice too, some have more water content.

Bottom line, try different setups and use what you're most comfortable with.

Welcome to ECF! :)

I've actually tried them and they are pretty good.

Tanks just aren't for me mainly because of the way I vape. I don't vape a lot I guess compared to some people but when I do, I take longer, deeper hits than your supposed to with tanks. This is with ego tanks and 510 tanks. I either get juice in the mouth or dry hits.

I have never been able to fill the cart properly so carts just don't work for me. I don't know if cartos are necessarily better, but for me, they're just easier. More user friendly for the clumsy vapors like me.

Hi Fish! How u bean? :)

cags and I use these, which are still carts that go right on 510 attys. Oh, you're not so clumsy. The pearls look nice and neat.

But seriously, I'm glad those cartos work well for you.

Damn, you guys are fast. Thanks so much for the replies. I hope you have the patience to endure more newb questions.

CART Q's:

Is it possible to accidentally smoke that filler stuff you drip the juice into?

How many times can you re-use the cart? I've been refilling it but not replacing the filler thing. Is this cool?

I really want to pre-fill a bunch of carts and put the rubber cap back on top so they're ready to smoke. Good or bad idea?

Cags - those tank carts look interesting. They last a long time then? One hole or two?

CARTOMIZER Q's:

These seem kind of expensive. But I was looking at the links you guys gave me and it says you can refill them. Is this what you guys are doing? If so, how many times can you re-use a carto?

1. Metal bridge prevents filler from being burned, the part could get hot.
2. Can refill indefinitely, wash it out once in a while.
3. I used to fill 10 carts each time, now 5 big carts at a time, good for a day or more pending your vaping.
4. Those clear/tank carts are from here: BreezEsmokes - Premium Electronic Cigarettes. I use two hole model. Cag?

I won't address carto question, but keep in mind attys burn out too. There is operating cost each method.

yes, I use the 2 hole model. on the breezesmokes site it is version 1. keep in mind that I don't think there is anything that is completely 100% trouble free. sometimes these leak, sometimes they get dry, but most of the time they work great for me. and they last weeks, I've used the same clear cart for up to 7 weeks (remember, I carry 3 pvs around with me so it wasn't the only one I used during that time)

the cartos may seem more expensive, but you don't have to use a separate atty....
