I want to mix up a version of NotCharlesManson's "Strawberry Shortcake Bar" using what I have at the moment. I am missing: Yellow Cake - FW, Strawberry Ripe - TPA, and Strawberry - TPA.

This is the recipe:

3% Bavarian Cream (TPA)
2% Biscuit (INAWERA)
1.5% Cake (Yellow) (FW)
1.5% Cheesecake (Graham Crust) (TPA)
6% Strawberry (Ripe) (TPA)
1.5% Strawberry (TPA)
2% Sugar Cookie (CAP)
2% Vanilla Swirl (TPA)

For strawberry options, I have:

Strawberry (Inawera)
Single flavor recommendations = Average quantity: 5.4% (Median: 5.0%)

Strawberry juice (Chef's Vapour) -- this is a mix of strawberry flavors
Single flavor recommendations = Average quantity: 20% (Median: 20.0%)

Strawberry Shisha (Inawera)
Single flavor recommendations = Average quantity: 6.7% (Median: 5.0%)

Wild Strawberry - Inawera
Single flavor recommendations = Average quantity: 2.8% (Median: 3.0%)

Killer Strawberry (After-8) -- strawberry with pomegranate and cream
maker's recommended mix for single flavor = 8-10%

For cake, I really only have Vanilla Cupcake (TPA). Or maybe Funfetti (DIYorDie concentrate).

How would you do this?

I know what I would do:

I would sub 2% INW Shisha Strawberry for the 6% Strawberry (Ripe)
(that's just me, you might only want 1.5%)

Sub 0.5% INW Strawberry for the 1.5% TPA Strawberry

Sub the 2% TPA Vanilla Cupcake for the 1.5% FW Yellow Cake
(I actually love Vanilla Cupcake and might take that to 3% just because, you know........ cupcakes are yummy!!!)

Take my advice at your own risk - I like fairly strong flavors. ;)

^^ May work... Just don't expect the Strawberry Shortcake bar. Vanilla Cupcake and FW Yellow cake are in no way similar. The cake flavor is definitely a key component to the recipe/overall flavor.

These are EXACTLY the swaps I'd do in your situation, @tazzle. Good job, @ceeceeisme.

The one other thing I might consider is lowering the Vanilla Swirl, since you're adding vanilla with the cupcake, and it's a creamier flavor than Yellow Cake. I'd probably knock it down to 1.5%. My instinct says 1%, but I wouldn't want to lose the custard note contribution. There's always the next test bottle for re-tweaking it. Or you could just make one of each to see which is better. Maybe yet another test bottle with 3% Vanilla Cupcake and 1% Vanilla Swirl. Go crazy. They're all going to be different kinds of good; I'm sure you won't have any trouble vaping them up. :)

Thanks for the help! I will try it out first with 2% INW Shisha Strawberry, 0.5% INW Strawberry, 2% TPA Vanilla Cupcake, and 1.5% Vanilla Swirl, and then one with with 3% Vanilla Cupcake and 1% Vanilla Swirl.

I appreciate these ideas! <3

(and no worries about me expecting it to be the same as the original recipe; I know that substitutions will make it different!)

I've got a similar recipe, unfortunately strawberry ripe/strawberry is one of the best combo for a strawberry & cream. I've swapped Inawera strawberry shisha for TPA strawberry but i always use strawberry ripe in a strawberry & cream.
