I am new to vaping. I have a cartomizer set up with a 808 type battery. I am not completely happy with the consistency of these cartomizers, and I would like to try sometning that I found out about, called "Clearomizers" and/or "Fluxomizers".

Can ANYONE PLEASE tell me what would be a good one to use on my V2Cigs 808 battery. What ohms resistance etc....

I would be very happy to know what to use, and where to get them etc... as well.

I would be very grateful for all input. :) Thank you very much!

I have the v2 (my first). I used the clear cartomizers and no matter what you do they muffle the juice taste. If you use Cinnamon juice or oil base juice they can crack.

The best thing I used with thier cartomizers is take out the guts and direct drip. You can try to fill them with the condom method but I didn't have success with them.

If you get an 808 to 510 adapter you can run anything with it but stay in the range of a 3.7v or under. I am not sure of the exact volt/ohm but do know the pass thru is higher.

State of Confusion
I vape with 808 batteries and recently tried stainless steel CE2's and am now moving on to the clear ones, yes I did buy the ones called fluxomizers from gotvapes.com. I usually use the 650 ma 'elegant' batteries but do use the slim batteries a little bit as backup. All the ones I have used have been in the 3.0-3.2 ohm range. I had the same questions you did but couldn't get definite answers so I just ordered some.

Huge improvement over cartomizers with 'stuffing'. I find the stainless steel ones dry out a bit from time to time, inverting them helps some but they don't do well with low fluid levels at 3.7V. So far the clear ones do not have this problem (drying out) and the ability to really see how much juice is in them is priceless.

I just grabbed a slim XL vapor4life auto penstyle battery and swapped it for my elegant battery to test for you. Have to drag a little longer, and take a primer puff at times, but still a nice vape, and still beats stuffing style cartos.

There is a lot of talk about the clear tubes, and I can tell they aren't quite as tough as I'd like to see them either, but I haven't cracked one yet in regular use. I think its most likely that the cracking problems show up when you pull the plug to clean and dry burn. There are videos that show how to do the clean and dry burn, it isn't hard.

For the recommended filling method you fill these with a syringe and blunt needle style adapter, some ship these plasticy adapters with the CE2's, be sure to try to get a real blunt needle, the plasticy things bend and are a pain in the tail.

I'm new to vaping too, 1.5 months, but in my short experience the clear CE2's as a really nice step up from the stuffed cartos. Your mileage may vary.

Ive been using 4 of them daily now for over a week. They are the fluxomizer XL from gotvapes. So far only one has had a small crack on the bottom near the battery end (my fault). I took the tube off and flipped it over and it's been working fine since. They are a bit more trouble to fill, especially with thicker juice. But they are easy to clean, just rinse them off and a quick dry burn and they work great. I get 10x more flavor with these than I do with the tank. I'm gonna stick with them until something better comes along.

mjmetz,

Thanks for going to the trouble to test that for me. Your comments help a lot!

Sounds good!

P.S. I'm using mine on my eGo with the cone on. I think having the cone there helps keep the carto from moving much or getting knocked. Which might be why I haven't had the cracking issue others have.

Another trick I used is to pull out the inner rubber seal, the one that goes around the ceramic cup, and make the notches slightly larger where the wick enters the atty. That solved any issues I had with dry hits.

I'm using the 2.6-2.8 ohm Fluxomizer XLs from gotvapes on my V4L KR8s and on an eGo PT with an adapter...I like these much better than the other cartos.

I also enlarged the slits on the rubber seal where the wick goes like Chefanim mentioned. I think there might still be a wicking issue if you use thicker juices. I also like to fill them with that rubber seal out instead of trying to shove the needle thru the tiny holes in it.

I don't think you can burn the wick, but if you run it dry it will gunk up the atty and can get that funky taste...if that happens just take it apart, rinse real good with hot water, dab the wicks dry with a paper towel, run a couple 2-3 second dry burns until the coil glows bright, rinse and dry again, reassemble, refill and vape!

I would use 2.4 to 2.8 but not the 3 ohm ones with a 3.7 bat. 2.4 might be to low for a standard battery as it may cause premature wear on the bat. If you have any problems with taste or performance pull the tube off and dry burn. If the end loops of the coil are touching the cup they will not be red hot like the middle ones. i find this makes them perform poorly more like 3 ohm ones. If you push them away from the sides with a small screwdriver it solves that. I pull the plug out (carefully it can tear) and fill directly from bottle down the sides and replace upside down. This will open up the slits and allow juice to flow freely. If they still aren't wicking well, pulling the tube of rinsing and torching the wick to red hot on a stove or with a butane torch will burn off anything left from manufacturing. The coil can also sit too far down in the cup and the wick will be choked in the slits. Gently pull up on the loops to pull it up some All of the above should ensure they work great. If you repeat these steps regularly a clearomizer can easily last longer than a standard atty and many times longer than a cartomizer.

I've been using both types for some time now with an 808. I absolutely love them because it means never burning one out (you can see before it runs dry).

I use mostly pure VG juice and chain-vape for hours, and I've never had a wicking problem. I've also never had a cracking problem but that's probably because I stick to tobacco, cherry, and butterscotch flavors in them, nothing that has the oils which react badly with the plastic.

I always use a syringe to fill them, a 16 gauge needle on the syringe to fill it from the bottle, then switching to a 20 gauge to inject it into the carto. It's a little bit of a hassle, but far less than I have filling a stuffed carto, what with the drips, cleaning the battery end, wait for it to be absorbed before use, etc.

The only real problem I've had was the base loosening and allowing it to spin when screwing it onto a battery. That breaks the wires. A lighter than normal touch is called for.

I've tried 2.4-2.6ohm and 2.8-3.0ohm and prefer the latter. I can't give a definitive answer as to why; I just find it a better vape.

Good luck!

I've been using the clearomizer XL's with my ego batteries and I really like them. The longer I have the tankomizers the more problems that seem to arise..The clearomizers have been rock solid (and cheap). I use a 2.6-2.8 w an ego 650 battery. The way I fill them is with a 16 ga syringe, but unlike fantwriter, I take the plunger out of the syringe and squeeze juice into the syringe, then put the plunger back in and fill the carto. There is a tiny hole in the carto that a syringe will fit into just shoot it in there. I did have one carto that came without the syringe hole, I just worked the needle into the carto along the side of the rubber gasket.

Clearomizers come with one drip tip for each pack of five. It's tiny and I don't like it- in fact if I vape too enthusiastically it gets hot. I use a long drip tip from TW (I'm sure other vendors have them too) and it fits perfect

Good info here from everyone. I never thought about flipping the seal over like haft2doit described.

pixiedust...I also don't like the little rubber tips that come with the CE2s so I just use the plastic ones I got from Gotvapes. I've got a few of different colors so I can color code the cartos so I can tell them apart.

I just got some Luer Lock 15ml bottles from madvapes in the mail yesterday...this will make filling easier since it eliminates having to fill a syringe. Just screw the needle on the bottle cap. They also came with regular caps for when not in use. I was hoping that the Luer Lock caps would fit my juice bottles but they don't.
