Im only a noob at this, so noob in fact that I havent even graduated yet to the liquids, Im still puffing on a e-cigarette which is fast becoming insufficient and annoying (batteries only last me about 30mins and I go through the pre filled carts way way too quickly) im waiting on my 510 and trolling the forums for tips lol. Will a 510 last me the distance or am I going to be broke trying to find the *Right* thing? I smoked for nearly 23 years on and off a pack a day. I am currently sucking on medium nic pre filled coffee flavoured carts from Elusionecigarette.com.au its only just ok and its what brought me to this forum to find better alternatives. I do not ever want to touch another cancer stick. Advice would be awesome right now. Also I have to say from what I have read here so far you all are a fantastic supportive bunch and I love this community already!! Oh and btw Im from Australia so suppliers here seem very very rare.

Hi, Dyanne! Welcome... :)

I looked at the site you mentioned, and it appears their product is very similar to the Blu Cigs here in the States. I started with those, too, and had very similar results to what you described. I ended up trying a different vendor, had a lot better results (haven't smoked a single 'analog' since I received the second kit), but still...those little batteries and cartos just didn't give me what I needed.

I ended up getting myself the ePower products, and I'm a lot better off. It wasn't until I found this forum that I began to realize just how many different products were out there.

I don't know what's available in Australia, but I do know there are plenty of Aussie members here who can help point you in the right direction:

You might want to look into finding an eGo type model, if battery life is the biggest concern. It's closer to the size of a cigar, but battery life is longer than a 510 and uses the same connections. The other issues such as flavor, nicotine level, and type of juice delivery (cartridge, cartomizer, dripping, tank system) are trial and error until you find what works for you personally.

The main thing is don't stress about quitting it'll only make it harder to quit. Get a good kit so you will enjoy it so much you wont want a cigarette. Basically you'll want to get a good battery or two, some juice and some cartomizers. Read the posts here and you'll learn what you need. Everyone is different and it takes awhile find just the right stuff.

I know cigs are very expensive in Australia, so don't worry about the initial expense of buying equipment. Elusion is way overpriced, so stay away from them. I buy everything from Chinese suppliers. Check out HealthCabin or Eastmall.

im pretty annoyed with elusion as half the carts dont even work... I will check out healthcabin or eastmall thank you.

thanks Mooreted, Im basically trying to find the right "machine" im happy to experiment with flavours, is the whole filling cart thing something you do many times a day?

If you buy a large capacity carto such as the eGo mega dual coil, you only need to top it off a couple of times a day. Really depends how much you vape. Good luck!

Dyanne my wife and i started out similar with a device that looked just like a cig where the end of it glowed red and batteries lasted for very short time , i was popping the end filter off and putting juice in it constantly.
Then i found the ego system with batteries that last the full day and a tank i pop off and refill several times a day.
Many find the ego system as a great first starter that is pretty easy to use and works well.
Im sure there are other pv devices that are better and such but this is what helped me get started and completly off the cigs after nearly 40 years.
Best to you and good luck.

That's great, Dyanne! I was really hoping you'd come back and let us me know how you are doing.

What all have you gotten so far?

510 deluxe starter kit from Health ECgarettes Aust lol... 3 atomizers, 15 cartridges, and chocolate, coffee, strawberry & vanilla eliquid! I gave away my old elusion ciggy for work freinds to try out. I have 3 x 510 batteries and a PCC and usb charger for computer so I should be fine with this set up for a while, I may get an ego but I will test this for a while first and have some fun with flavours :)

I love it!!!!!! Way better than 510 and all the bits from 510 still work with it. Battery is lasting great and the flavour and vape is lasting way longer than the 510's were. I was thinking the carts where finishing too quickly and I felt like I had to keep topping them up!! They were fine obviously because one cart has lasted me hours on the ego lol

Pretty awesome, huh? And how's the need to light up? Gone? Bet you rarely, if ever, even think about it anymore now that you have your eGo and a whole new world is opening up for you. Now, start poking around in the DiY forums...it'll get you wanting to start making your own juice. Maybe not from the ground up, but I bet you'd get some ideas about combining some of the juices you have, or have access to, and doctoring them up in one way or another.

The thought of a real cigarette barely crosses my mind, I did light up my work mates ciggy for her the other day just out of curiousity and it was vile LOL!! I didnt inhale it even just a quick puff to light it and quickly reached for my 510 to suck on some strawberry flavour to get that horrible taste out of my mouth.
I really dont know what I was doing wrong with the 510 but I was going through so many carts and toppingthem up constantly and it was really starting to put me off. Im glad I stuck with it and got an ego as I have been using the same cart since I got the ego yesterday and have only just topped it once. :) I am still looking for a flavour I can get comfortable with but after what I have read so far that might take some time.
