I actually just ran into a similar problem cleaning 1 of my 5ml PBC tanks. I Had a hard time taking off the top part (the botton coil end is esay as I open it constanly to fill it with liquid. What I did was take 2 dry washcloths and used 1 for each end. Took a few tries, but it finallly came off, within a few moments. If all else fails use a couple channel locks or hand vice grips, but be VERY careful on how much torque you put on em as you don't want to damage the parts.

Take the battery out of your Sentinel and put it in the freezer for about a half an hour or so. That causes the metal/threads to shrink a bit which can make it easier to get the IGO off.

This works for me most of the time. Sometimes I still end up needing to use rubber gloves for grip but the cold seems to break free whatever has it stuck.
