Actually, vapor is not as effective a nicotine delivery system as smoke is, I understand. That's one reason why vapers tend to vape longer than they ever smoked. Smoke is more viscous and attach to the cilia in your lungs a lot more efficiently than vapor.

@ Cloud Wizard.. I had to laugh when I saw your post. Before teaching a particularly difficult subject (Upperlevel Math), I found that I just wanted to absolutely inhale 3 cigarettes in succession (butts and all)! And then, afterwards the same, just to get over the experience. lol! Now, during such times, all I need to do is 'up the nic' for 5 minutes and then.. Peace.

You're definitely getting the nicotine. And...cinnamon screws up (a little, sometimes....) the equipment sometimes (clogs a cartomizer, atomizer....maybe)....but go for it. When you read something like that (placebo)...if you keep reading the entire thread, you'll probably get closer to the truth. (NOT a placebo...I promise.)

Yes...this place is wonderful.....who knew a bunch of ex-smokers would turn out to be the nicest people in the world? LOL.

I've been cigarette-free for a year and nine months, and YES....the cravings will stop. You're in the early stages....hang in there.

I enjoyed vaping more when I started vaping with a 3.7 volt pv and using low resistance atomizers....sooner or later you might want to take a look at your equipment and see if there's anything you might want to upgrade to. It's a natural progression and will keep you interested and committed.....just a thought.

NO, you definitely get nicotine from vaping. Smokes pass on nicotine in the form of 1-5 micron ash particles coated with freebase nicotine which bleach (meaning the nicotine gets sucked out of the ash leaving crap behind) in the smallest crevices of your lungs. Vapor particles are 5-10 microns (get exhaled as water vapor). There's also a difference in acidity.

There's a good "speculation" here: Update on efficiency of e-cig nicotine delivery and absorption

I too went thru some severe cravings using 12mg juice (prefilled cartos actually).
I bumped the dosage to 24mg, and wow! cravings disapeared, and in fact, i had to LOWER the dose to 18mg as i was getting lightheaded hehe.

Try some 24mg juice, im shure your cravings will go away.
If else fails, try some nic gum, but stay away from the stinkers.

hope this helps

I forgot to mention, i got a LOT of good advice from all the helpfull people in this forum, about the nicotine dosage issue.
You might find this thread usefull
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/278046-18-24-mg-nic-mmhhh.html

Belive me man, i have never met anyone so hooked up (maybe even obsessed) with nicotine as me. And if i was able to stay off the stinkers, i pretty much GUARANTEE that you can too. You just need some stronger juice to get you thru your first month.

Hang in there!

I'm using a joyetech ego-c 640mah I think and I think it's 3.4V? I totally agree with trying new things, it becomes a hobby I have the tanks (which they come with) bought some fluxomizers and now anxiously awaiting for the vision ego Clearomizer :).

Ps is dekang the best I hear a lot of people talk about it and that's the stuff I have that's 24mg (need to buy more unless there's better) that I got from vaporkings
The 18mg stuff is from discountvapers

I was also a pack a day Camel smoker. I started vaping 3 months ago. When I first started I still had some analogs, and I used them up 1-2 first thing in the morning. For the last month I haven't had an analog. There where times when I was stressed/upset when I really wanted an analog and I would if I had any.

My advice is not to be too rigid about it. It is not like with alcoholics who cannot touch a drop without falling back into a drinking binge. Very likely if you try to smoke you will not like the taste (and the after-taste). Keep in mind that every analog you don't smoke is doing you good, and even if you smoke one from time to time it's not the end of the world, and not a failure. You would still be predominantly a vaper. Still experimenting with various tastes is a good idea.

Great advice, I think I am taking it as the alcoholic who can't have a drop lol. If I do splurge and have one will I have to go through this feeling all over again?

I am going to preface this by everyone is different and so is their addictions and the level thereof. So this is only my personal experience.

I would not go back if I were you. I did. I was vaping about 2 years ago (lasted 5 weeks) and then my backslide started with just one cigarette. Had one of my daughter's. One lead to another the next day and then to me buying a pack so I wouldn't bum the "occassional" one off of her and then after the pack after pack progresssion started again and there I was once again a full time smoker.

Fast forward to November 2011. That is when I started to taper down again. Took me months to get to vaping exclusively and even with tapering down to one or two a day for 2 weeks, I had withdrawal when I finally decided it was time to vape exclusively again. But I know me, if I have a cigarette around, sooner or later I will smoke it, so I had to say no more.

I lasted 10 days and then caved. I had one, took it from my daughter's pack, even though I know where it will lead as surely as I know the sun will rise in the east and set in the west. I wasted all those days, threw them away. So disappointed in myself too. You can read my rant about it in the Switching Forum if you want.

Now I am working 4 days smoke free again. And for me, even after just one, I have had to deal with the past few days, cravings again and urges that had quieted down a bit after 10 days. Today on into my fourth day, I am starting to feel a bit better and more grounded.

It's up to you, and I probably smoked a lot more and longer than you...35 years + 1-2 PAD, so perhaps my addiction is stronger than yours, but I would not chance it. I keep telling myself that I started smoking with one cigarette and as my sad history has shown I started again with just one.

Whatever you decide, I do wish you luck and success, and as I said, this is just my experience, so take it for what it is worth.

I know one is too many and too many is not enough as far as analogs are concerned for me.

Keep fighting the good fight whatever you do. :)

I'll throw in my two cents FWIW. I've been off analogs for about 22 months now. I knew from the time I got my first ecig that they would work for me, and they have, wonderfully. What I came to understand is that the pleasurable aspect of smoking is only partially replaced in vaping by the nicotine delivery to the brain, which as others have said is not as efficient. The other at least equally important part of the equation is the flavor aspect, which makes vaping much more pleasurable than smoking overall(IMHO),if you have the right flavors on hand that suit your taste. In contrast, I smoked primarily because I was hooked, not because cigs were delicious, lol. In my case, and I've heard others say the same, most of the cigs I smoked I didn't really enjoy, but I just had to have them(addiction). Maybe 1 in 10 would be the absolute bomb, like the first one in the morning when I'd get that sudden head rush, or the first one to complement a good beer(but probably not the rest of the pack).

The key for me was identifying a handful of flavors that I liked a lot. What I found during the first few weeks and months was that suddenly a flavor I had been enjoying might not be doing it for me, and when that happened I just needed to switch to another flavor and that would do the trick. After a few months the the urges to smoke a cigarette would get further and further apart, until they pretty much went away completely, and even the smell of smoke made me sick. Also, whenever I had the time and opportunity to vape I vaped nearly non-stop, and if one flavor wasn't doing it for me, I'd switch to another, and then another, until I found one that satisfied at that moment. The few flavors I got with my first PV were crap btw, so I ordered a bunch of different flavors the very next day. Those 4 or 5 days waiting for them to get in were difficult, but once they arrived I was good.

The roughest times in the early days were those when I would always have had a ritual smoke, like in the car, or after a meal, or while drinking, or right after....well you get the idea. So I made sure I vaped at those same times, pre-emptively.

Good luck, I hope you manage to find a formula that works for you.

My first day of vaping was the last day for me, i still had cravings sometimes, but kept vaping to keep them at bay. One day at work i was stuck without vaping for 3 hours due to customers so i got so frustrated that i took a cig from my car lit it up and took a very small drag... big mistake it tasted terrible i immediately tossed the cig, i could not beleive i used to smoke that stuff, i can't even describe how bad it tasted to me, and it was my every day brand for 12 years (11 years old till 23). i vape very strong nic levels, around 32-36 and it keeps my from smoking analogs, but even with the craving for an analog the taste of it will turn you away im sure.

When I got my starter kit the 16mg carts that came with it got my heart racing, definitely working for the fix. Right now the only bottles I have are a 11mg Black Tea and a 6mg Strong Mint. Too low really, the 11mg is great but the 6mg is way too low, I refill my cart on that about once an hour and I am vaping constantly. I would definitely suggest bringing something stronger when you go out to the bar and choosing a strength that gives you that headrush like when you smoke that first analog.

Get LOTS of juice!

Hi I have been vaping for two years but my hubby is new to this and he is having a hell of a time! I was wondering what you are smoking on? I just switched to the mega cartomizer (dual coil) it hits really hard and takes that craving away. I get my juice from thevaporhut .com they also have a store in okc, anyways I tried lots of different ones and I love theirs! So you may try some I'd theirs out with a mega cart
