I am pleased to say that I am happy with my V2cig - which I believe I was told is a KR808, however I am thinking that the 6 mg cartos I have might not be cutting it for me. Granted, they seem to last longer than it was indicated by someone ( can't remember who ) on here, and the menthol is pretty smooth and enjoyable, but I still have the urge to sneak an analog here and there, which leads me to think that the 6 mg might not be enough. Should I try a higher nic carto? 12 mg? 18 mg? Would that help to eliminate the analog cravings completely? I mean, the V2 throws a LOT of vapor, and is just dandy, in my opinion, and the battery holds up wonderfully ( I LOVE the manual battery!! I am a bit of a control freak...lol! ) but I still feel like I might need a bit more nicotene to make the total conversion to a full time vapor, and to be able to completely quit analogs for good. Does this sound typical? Am I on the right track with these thoughts? I smoked Virginia Slims SuperSlims, non-menthol, which are very weak cigs, but I have read that some people need to use a higher nic carto than they would originally think they would when doing the conversion, since the body metabolises the nicotene differently when using an e-cig as opposed to an analog.

And another thing...okay, you guys were right...I am already considering filling my own cartos...hoping to use the "condom fill" method, since that looks less intimidating to me. So, my questions are:

1.) Where should I get my empty cartos to fill? Which ones would fit the V2, or KR808, and where are they the cheapest and most reliable? I am open to suggestions!
2.) How many empty cartos are generally needed for a starter like myself? I assume that I will be refilling these with the same juices, so let's say I decide to order 3 or 4 different kinds of juice, I would think that I would need at least 3 or 4 empty cartos? Or do you guys pre-fill several empty cartos to keep on hand for convenience?
3.) juice - how much do I need, and where should I buy it from? American made, only, please! ;) And how long does a 10 ml bottle last? Who gives free samples? I have yet to taste anything other than the cartos my V2 came with - menthol, vanilla, and coffee. I am curious. My tastebuds would like to explore! lol! Or even some already filled cartos - different flavors - who sells these, and are they worth trying? No matter how you look at it, even buying pre-filled cartos as opposed to actual packs of cigs, it is still way cheaper! Any specific cartos last longer than others?
4.) Any other tips and suggestions would be appreciated! I am definitely sticking with the carto notion as opposed to dripping, at least for now. I, personally, like the ease of the KR808 and the familiarity of it, so any way that I can make this even more cost effective would be super!

Thanks so much! This has been such a learning process, but I am glad that I have entered into this new realm of vaping!

esjam, glad you're enjoying your e-cig! I'm not familiar with the V2, but if it is truly a KR808 then I can make some recommendations.

For your question about nic content. I was a PAD Camel Filter smoker and started with 24mg nic e-juice and then dropped down to 18mg. Even though you were on Virginia Slims, you might want to kick up your nic a bit to the 12-14mg range and see if that gets rid of the cravings...maybe even a small bottle or a couple of prefilled cartos of 18mg, just in case.

1). For blank, and some pre-filled, cartos and batteries I recommend Vapor4Life (V4L). Their customer service is excellent and their hardware is the best quality and longest lasting that I've come across, with a wide range of batt colors (manual and automatic). Go with the CoolCart cartomizers - you can get pre-filled and blanks in a variety of colors. For another vendor: I've also heard that CigEasy Gold cartos are pretty popular, though I haven't tried any. Cheapest normally doesn't go hand-in-hand with most reliable. V4L ain't the cheapest, but they don't strain the wallet either and the quality is worth the extra buck. They frequently have sales and there is a coupon code- smilin -that will get you 10% off. They also normally throw in a bonus pre-filled carto or two with each order.

2). Cartos (pre-filled and blanks) normally come in packages of 5. Again, my recommendation is V4L CoolCart cartos. They hold a bit more e-juice and don't get as heated when chain vaping. I picked up a couple of packages of 5 to get started. You can refill them with "same taste" juice several times. You can also boil them and let them dry out then refill with "different taste" juices. I've since started stockpiling blank cartos in case FDA regulation crap comes to fruition. I normally have 5-10 different flavored cartos ready and waiting and I'll swap flavors maybe two or three times a day - depending on my mood.

3). Juice - how much do you need? Really depends on how frequently you vape and for how long. I go through anywhere from 2-3 ml of juice a day (spread across different cartos/flavors). If I stuck with one flavor juice at that rate a 10ml bottle would last me about 5 days. I haven't heard of anyone giving free samples on a routine basis, but as I said, V4L normally tosses in one or two bonus pre-filled cartos with each order. I have got that from other vendors, as well, but not from everyone. Watch the Suppliers Forum on this site for sales!

Who to buy from: there are tons of vendors selling delicious e-juices out there. Pre-filled cartos can be purchased from V4L and other vendors of KR808 equipment (Vapor9, CigEasy, LeCig, etc.). For bottled juices the ones that I have tried so far and highly recommend are:

Ms T's Bakery- wide variety of incredible juices with a reward points program in lieu of discounts.
FreedomSmoke USA- good variety and outstanding flavor...coupon code- freedomsmokeusa -for 10% off
Vapors Etc- good variety with great flavors...coupon code- vapezone -for 10% off

4). Other recommendations? Don't buy big bottles of juice right away. Pick up small 3-,4-,5-,6-ml sample size bottles of different flavors until you find some that you just can't put down, then order those juices in quantity. Don't give up on a juice flavor too quickly. Many juices that are "mixed to order" need time to settle and mix properly in order to get full flavor. If you try something that doesn't taste that great, put it away and come back to it a week or two later. The taste may be quite a bit different...not to mention your sense of taste may have changed drastically after a few weeks of being off analogs. If you are sitting stationary for a good period of time during your day, you should consider getting a Passthrough (PT). If you're at a computer the PT can be used in a USB port on the computer, or if you are near an AC wall plug you can also pick up a 1 or 2 Amp output wall plug-to-USB adapter (my preferred method) and vape away using electricity and save your batteries for when you're not near an electrical outlet or computer. I use one in my car with a car charger adapter when I'm going to be on the road longer than about half an hour.

Hope you'll find this helpful.

I used to smoke Virginia SuperSlims also... when I started vaping I started with a 12mg PG juice - but it wasn't enough... the SuperSlims were stronger than I thought. Now 10 months later I've found a good mix for me.
I buy a 36mg nic VG plain, mix it down with plain VG to bring down the nic level 18-20mg and add an organic food flavoring.
The cost is kept way down by doing it yourself and you can control the right mix of nic that works for you also. It does take some time to find the right level - good luck!!!
