did you dry burn it wit the water in the wick or something or not prime the wick after cleaning it? what is the resistance of the ce4. are you vaping it strait up and down? when the juice got low was you tipping it over so it could wick. if your chain vaping and let the juice get low and don't tip it will dry the wick it wont wick fast enuff and will burn the wick making it taste burnt. dry burning is not a good ideal.

Seems that way if you where not tipping it once it got low then yes for sure dry burning is ok but dry burn to long like if your taking a long hit a bunch of times then yea it burnt it and you will not get rid of the taste.
got to tip it up side down alot reguardless with the short wicks need to tip before ever hit pretty much. to keep the wick nice and wet

Tried this cleaning method, seems to be fine now, will continue to monitor for a few more days. Thanks for all your help. Discovered something wierd from this cleaning process. My Ce4 atomiser do not have exposed wick, seems like the wick is in build within the metal tube itself. Is this the latest technology?

Anyone heard of this new "wickless" CE4?
