If the threads are painted (actual paint) buy some paint stripper and get rid of the paint.

If the base metal is steel or stainless steel, you'll be fine using the wire wheel in a dremel but you'll have issues if it is something softer.

I seriously don't consider magnets an upgrade, especially if they fail to hold the switch open when supporting the mod and atty weight in an unlocked state.

If the body of your mod ever warms, something isn't right, period. Either you have a mod that can't handle the build and is stressing the battery, or your battery is not up to the task of handling the build.

When in doubt, throw it out.

i have a stainless steel black nemi and it used to get insanely hot on the middle threads in like 5 seconds with a .1 ohm build on a patriot using funnily enough the same purple mystery battery that the O.P. had, i blued it using a bernzomatic torch pen, it cleaned the threads and stopped the burning/shock, i still use a .1-.2 build on the same patriot using one of the same four purple inr18650's,

Id stay closer to .3 if i were you and avoid the .1 .2 as they are going to probably exceed the amp limit of your batteries.

Everything I'm hearing here sounds like me about 6 to 8 months ago I didn't care lets push the batteries lol don't take it wrong I'm not trying to be mean sarcastic but I've learned from that and I think you guys can to .1 on any 18650 isn't safe I would hate to see you guys on the news missing partsvof your face and serious burns on what's left please check how many amps your pulling at a fully charged battery and know what your battery can do and listen to baditude on the battery stuff he is one of the best I've seen in this site and everyone else has good input. Ill get off my soapbox now.

Ended up exchanging it for a plain old all stainless silver nemesis at the place I bought it. Just picked up a Atty as well and just got done building coils for it. Running it on the Sony VCT5 batteries.

EVERYTHING IS PERFECT NOW! I can pretty much hold the button for 20+ seconds and nothing at all heats up. Granted the coil I just built is 1.2 ohm but we will see. Thanks for all the help! Great community here!

Just don't know what to do with those mystery batteries...$24 dollars wasted, and somehow I keep buying RDAs and have a Patriot, Stillare and now the Atty all within 2 weeks...bought the Atty cause I wanted clean matching color for the new all silver nemesis.

+1 for dealing with a BM. Customer satisfaction.
