Help! Newbie. Seems I have 2 different allergies to both PG and VG. Suggest a mix for me to try?

vaping for 3 weeks now. 1st I ordered PG juice from Liberty Flights in various flavors. After a few days later my eyes became very swollen and I had red, itchy patches all around them. I had to start taking Benadryl and apply cortisone creams and it barely helped that's how bad it was. So, I switched to all VG and ordered from both Liberty and JC. My eyes cleared up but my mouth and mouth area is so inflamed despite which juice I used. Painful! Nothing helps.

I'm sooooo upset as vaping is the only thing that helped me kick analogs. I want to try once more before totally giving up. Has anyone had this problem and have you come up with a VG/PG mix that's tolerable? I'm aware that it could be flavoring or nic so I'm will to go flavorless/ no nic for a day or 2 to see. Any suggestions? Bah.

...dangit, never heard of someone allergic to both...ECOPure sells (supposedly) pure juices(pricey)...what kinda flavors were you vaping and what nic level...didja drink lotssa water...how much and how long didja smoke the funkies before you tried vaping...have you had allergy problems with other products like bath and beauty aids...I don't have an answer for ya but more info can help eliminate other causes.........

p.s. 3weeks, huh...the time frame that the worst symptoms of nic detox can hit...I wonder if you originally had a reaction to the PG compounded by severe detox problems?????hmmmmmmmmmmm...mj

Yes, I have allergies and I've ID'ed them and removed most of them from my life. I suspected I was allergic to VG and PG as it's in so many cosmetics, soaps,.......that I've had reaction to and I've learned which items I can tolerate and those that I wouldn't even think to go near. I have not removed all VG and PG from my life but I'm very careful. Because of this I also suspect that I can tolerate both VG and PG in limited forms.

I smoked the "funkies" for 30 years. LORDIE! This is why I don't think nic is the problem.

@r77r7r Thanks. I'll check them out.

Wow, that's a heck of a sitution. I'm sorry this is happening to you.

I had my worst time around three weeks. I had the "quitters flu" and a very irritated mouth and throat, but not swelling of my face and eyes.

I hope you can find something that works. I'll be celebrating three months vaping on the 11th and am celebrating one month analog free today! YEA!!!

    Pulling for you!

If Benedryl helps, if it was me, I'd be happier vaping and taking that than smoking. FYI- I don't have the severe allergies that you have, but I detest the side effects of Benedryl- I only take it at nite, and it lasts me most of the next day.

    PEG thread................

Thanks. I'll read up and see if anyone who had a problem with VG and PG had success with PEG. I sure hope so.

PEG400... PEG 400 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia another... Polyethylene glycol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ...I have heard BUT DO NOT KNOW, that PEG is less preferred as a base for juice as it can break down into ethylene glycol, a not good substance...I have also heard it can be used as an alternative to regular PG...like I said, I DON'T KNOW....

Sounds like the flavoring chemicals are what are bothering you. I know someone with the exact same issues (with those same liquids, as well as anything from China) and it took her a long time to find liquids she could vape without problems. She ended up vaping Halo's line, Vapor Station's line (flavoring comes from India), and Ecopure's line without problems. It turned out it wasn't the PG or VG at all.

Maybe buy some samples or ask members to buy small amounts of them in the Classifieds? You can also look for people selling those vendors liquids in those threads. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/classifieds-swaps/

    Good luck to you.
