Wow!! I'm amazed to see over 10 pages of discussion on this little mod:) Curvy: Don't forget to just try another standard atty on it before deciding it needs a major overhaul.

Just a little history of where it came from. I picked it up with some other mods, etc...in the classifieds. I used it with basic (no idea of exact ohms/voltage) attys for a couple of days, but didn't like how hot 5v was. It was tested with an atty I was currently using right before sending it out. It fired up perfectly again. Unless something happened in transit, I think it's just being touchy about whatever atty is being used.

I could be wrong since I didn't use it for a long period of time, though. I hope you can get it going again Curvy! It is a pretty cool little mod for someone who likes higher voltage. Good luck and maybe you can make it into a variable. That would be even better:)

Thanks trouble!!! :D I completely believe that it worked fine since I can get my LR atty to work. I've been having trouble getting these atties to work good on the Juice Box that I got shortly after this one, so it's no surprise that the atties may be to blame. LOL I'm not giving up and I'm still completely thrilled that you were kind enough to give this to me. If anything, it's inspired me and the hubby to try our hands at modding!!! :D With the help of the friendly folks here at ECF, I'm sure we'll have it vaping our fave jucies in no time!! (Provided I can ever make it to RS! LOL)

Okay, so I found the capacitor at RS!!!! :D I know....FINALLY! Life gets a little crazy in the household with the end of the school year fast approaching. I'm not going to attempt doing anything with it this evening, but I'm willing to try to solder in it tomorrow....Or should I say the hubby will attempt to solder it in... :D My friend shipped me a regular atty from a different vendor on Friday, so I will let you all know how it works when it makes it here.

Didn't want to leave everyone hanging. Hubby is having a *little* trouble soldering the capacitor in since the loose wires in the box are very short (the red one anyway)....Stay tuned for updates tomorrow as he's gone to work this evening...... Oh, and the atty that was being sent to me was ripped out of the package....Thanks USPS.... GRRRRRRRRR

now i'm post office paranoid.......grrrrrrrrrr
Beck, tell your husband to use "flux" or soldering paste, apparently it makes it much easier when soldering & the Rosin Core Solder. It's silver solder which is a very good conductor. They actually use silver solder on the space shuttles. :)

(ooooooooh yeah baby, hopefully my next mod can take me to the moon & back!!!!)
