OK
Not trying to convince anyone of anything, lol. But this is simple stuff. Do you want to charge 10 batteries a day or not? Me = no way in hell. Others may be fine with it.

I was at a Christmas decorating party this weekend... and a smoker tried my eGO... he didn't think it was big at all. It is not big once you get the analog out of your head.... but even a super mini will seem heavy compared to analogs as they are paper. The reality is weight is going up compared to analogs - just the way it is.

Just make SURE to learn how to use it BEFORE you leave on the trip.
And come here with any questions you have if you run into bumps on the way to making it work good.

There is a learning curve, and you don't want to be on that learning curve while you're out on the road!
Trust us on that.

The smoketip is a good unit, make sure you get an extra pack of cartomizers from them.
unfortunately I can't think of any non-mod unit that will last for a 19 hour drive I think ramshaka's advice on getting a unit that will plug into the car power source was a good idea..BUT..you can probably get something like this
Philips Universal USB Car Charger - Black (DLV2201/17) : Target
locally and charge while your driving

Ok I am confused.... non-mod unit?
Also it comes with 6 cartomizers, aren't they supposed to last about 1 cart = a pack of regular cigs?

Unfortunately I let my overwhelming thoughts get the best of me. I barely started vaping a week ago and spent a lot of money on three starter kits(total of 7 KR8s), 4 30ml bottles of juice and more prefilled cartos then I can deal with, especially now when I'd rather use a mixture of mg and flavor of my liking. If I woulda buckled down and did MORE research, rather than getting suckered into Google's first 10 search results, I probably woulda saved some money. This was a great learning experience to further develop my vaping IQ.

I got Smoketips and I like them. For some reason, automatic batteries work on and off while inhaling. I've learned to adjust to them by blowing out the "empty air", then continuing to suck in more vapor until I get a full hit.

I think to many are forgetting the spirit of this post. Here we have a non-vapor looking to go Vapor for a 1200mi road trip for under sixty dollars. I'm pretty sure the only way to do that is to spend 20-30 dollars on a car charger and a usb passthru unit, and then whatever is left on prefilled carts if you don't want to mess with juice. Really if your starting out with zero equipment and want to make that kind of trip for under 60 bucks,, well realistically it probably won't work, unfortunately there is a bit of an overhead to getting started in the world of e ciggs, and I'd say its closer to about a 100 bucks. But, don't let that discourage, its well worth the buy in.

The best place to get educated on getting it done cheap for beginners is probably here:

I have to agree with you on this one. Even though I am new to vaping, I have found that the most useful, economical, and sensible unit to own (which I do and also I own a KR808D-1), would be an ego passthru, with a car adapter, and a few cartomizers. I purchased mine at Cignot for $22. It charges while using it and then you can unplug the thing and keep using it...wireless!) They sell a car adapter for $5 there and cartomizers are $17 for 5 or $4 each (refillable mind you). You can also purchase the cartomizers elsewhere for the unit if you find them cheaper. ALSO, later on you can buy the atomizer/carto's if you want to try out dripping)

There are battery mods that hold huge batteries that last for days...but they are big units and are often a little pricey compared to most starter kits (though not overly so in some cases)

I would not go with the 1 cart=pack of cigs with smoketip (or any other brand)

I used 2 a day when I started out on a long drive I could see you using 3 to stay awake and all that, especially with your prior smoking habits.

No way your going to get an Ego with enough supplies for a 1200mi trip under 60 bucks, thats my point. I would suggest the ego as well (I already did I believe) for anyone who can't deal with wire. But, at the end of the day the cheapest way to go is just keeping a passthru plugged in. Then you'll have enough money left over to (maybe) get just enough cartomizers and/or supplies.

The Liberty Flight Rivas are back in stock for about $30
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

2 packs of empty cartos $16
Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - 510 Cartomizer

5ml sampler juices at $2.39 each x 5 $11.95
Everything needed for a long road trip under $60

However, if it was me, I wouldn't buy the cartos or only buy one pack-- I'd make do with carts and invest in a car charger with usb attachment for charging the riva batteries on the go.

PS. I love dripping and it would lower the cost significantly but I DO NOT recommend dripping while driving.

Alot of highly marketed ecig makers like to claim that cartos last about a pack, but in my experience, they last me about 4-5 hours of light to moderate vaping.

Most people will tell you that is one big huge lie.
I see it as a enormous bending of the truth.

A Cartomizer may have about as much nicotine as a pack of cigarettes, but you're not getting all of that nicotine with vaping.

Some studies show we only get about 10% of the nicotine from vaping.
Others think there are flaws in those studies and we may get as much as 40% of the nicotine.

Personally, I think the best a person can get out of 1ml of juice is about 10 cigarettes.
And that is only if you have a really good device and know how to make it work really good.

I'm a NOOB but hopefully I can provide some advise. If you're traveling a lot, the easiest e-cig IMO would be the KR808D-1. So long as you have a charger you should be fine. Pack up some cartos and move on. No juice to pack, no dripping; just quick and easy. I'm hooked on the Vapor King. Price is right, service is great and the flavor of the carto's I've ordered are great; okay, not all of them, but the majority of them are. To each his/her own.
When you get home you can refill the carto's puff away and figure out which you want for the future. Take it from a NOOB, you'll own more than one type of e-cig.
