Here and There
Hello, I have had my Provari V2.5 New Design since April of last year (Silver, red LED). I also have a Provari V2 since 10/2012, (Blue, blue LED). I purchased both new from Provape.

My problem is with the newer Provari. It reads each battery at 4.2. Sometimes it doesn't have any read-out, other times it only flashes. Right now it's dead. It might work for a bit again if I try it tomorrow. (Thank goodness I have two or I'd be in full panic mode.)

I only use the recommended red AW IMR 18490 3.7 V batteries and purchase those from reputable vendors. I charge with a Pila.

When I switch the battery from the V2.5 into the V.2 Provari, I get an accurate readout. So I know it's not a battery issue. I actually use the older blue mod much more than the newer silver one because it feels better in the hand. So the V2.5 silver Provari hasn't seen much use .. and it puzzles me that it it's on the fritz. I only drip on cisco LR 306 atomizers and use a clear DIY (barely flavored) VG juice (much like the old ecopure in consistency) ... not sticky/messy even if some drips into the well occasionally.

What should/could I try before contacting for service? It's still under warranty. I know that the newer Provaris shouldn't get the alcohol cleaning treatment. I do clean the inside contact with a q-tip soaked in isopropyl and also the connection where the atomizer is attached. Thanks for any tips or advice!

First, make sure your threads are clean. They're an important part of the electrical system & if they're gunked up at all, it'll cause problems with the battery completing the circuit. Make sure you check both the male & female sides of the threads & give them a good cleaning.

Secondly, check the spring. It should also be clean, but also it might be slightly compressed & not providing enough pressure to ensure the battery is making good contact with the board. You may need to "stretch out" the spring slightly.

Checking both of those things should only take you a couple minutes at best & they're likely to be the first suggestions that Provape gives you as well. If they don't fix the problem, I would just go ahead & contact them, informing them you did both of those steps.

Good luck!
