I started vaping about a month ago with a cheapo ecig from the mall then this week moved up to a kgo 1100 which is a big improvement but I still can't completely quit the analogs. I have decreased from being a pack and half day to 5-10 analogs a day which is an improvement but for health reasons I need to give up the analogs completely. What has worked for others?

Howdy,

Give the 'better' vaping experience a little bit of time. You mention the kGo. What other stuff are you using? Juices? Congrats by the way for giving it a try and keeping with it. Trust me, it will work if you want it to.

Edit: I was too hasty with my response as usual. You have come to the 'one-stop-shop' for eCig information and answers to your questions. Nice move. Don't be shy to ask questions as they come up. There are countless thousands of ECF'ers that are willing to help. A majority of them have come from the same spot you are at, including me (34 years of analogs).

I was not a hardcore smoker. I would smoke for a month or two and then quit and the cycle would start over. What really got me off the analogs was a big battery mod and a juice with good throat hit (the kick in the back of your throat from the nicotine) And flavor. I still believe to this day that the throat hit (plus the nicotine of coarse) Is the only thing that keeps me from going back.

Hi and congrats even on the cutting back

One thing don't beat yourself up over it if you do smoke some right now, many of us vaped for a while before we stopped smoking all together. Some as much as a year.

Make sure you are inhaling properly as that helps with the amount of nicotine you are getting Proper inhalation technique.

Make sure you are drinking enough water, that can make a major difference in your experiences with e-cigs.

Also try upping your nicotine level in the juice.

Awesome job getting to where you are now!!! I think what works is different for everybody. I finally stopped in Janaury after 20+ years smoking. I just couldn't stand the taste or smell of analogs after vaping different juices and finding a few i love. Just don't give up and take it one day at a time. Keep reading and asking questions. If it wasn't for everyone here on ECF i would of failed. The people here are GREAT !!!

Congrats, you're on the right way!!!

I agree with the other guys and gals: give it time, it will come all by itself; don't try to force the situation, let vaping grow on you.
I bet you have that little morning ritual where in 5 minutes after you opened your eyes you have a mug of coffee in one hand and and a smoke in the other (was part of my life for +25 years , 40 cigs x day btw); well for me there came the first great symptom one day: I was hasting through the cig to start my first vaping session of the day! there i knew cigs where pretty much out of my life!!!:toast:
Hanging out here on ECF helps a lot, all the enthousiasm is contagious.
Don't be shy to vape when you're out with friends, there can be some teasing in the beggining but curiosity and support will prevail specially if you start vaping some "spaceage" setups.

So hang in there you will see: it's a new world and lots of fun

Funny you should mention the vaping in front of friends thing. A month ago I was vaping in front of some of my friends and they were heckling me a bit, but one friend has been a prisoner of cigarettes for a long while. Even after offering a try, she said no. Well, she tried it a few days later, and she is now on 4 weeks since analogs. See? Case in point.

Haven't tried them, but WTA juices get rave reviews around here for those that need a little more nudge.

Have them and am vaping them. Yes they get my rave review. Too bad that more juicers aren't going in that direction right now, but more will follow. WTA is well worth trying.

Edit: I guess I should explain WTA. Whole Tobacco Alkaloids. This extract method brings all of the 'good' things that analogs contain to a juice. I'm no chemist, so can't go into detail here. There are threads out there dedicated to WTA with better explanations. One WTA vendor out there is Aroma eJuice. Good stuff. Slightly more expensive, but worth it.

Here's a couple things that really helped me finally, after messing around for a year, to quit the cigs.

I smoked Natural American cigs for a week or so before quitting(vaped and smoked). These have no added chemicals. I did this to get myself un-addicted to the chemicals in regular cigs. Sometimes , if not most, of the problem with withdrawal is the withdraw from chemicals and not the nicotine so much. eliquid and vaping is taking care of the nicotine.

Vaped 36 mg enic more often. Not all day else it felt like my heart would explode. This helped a bunch too.

Finally, it just came down to not smoking. I took it one moment at a time, one day at a time and made no promises to myself other than that. One day, one moment is all could handle. I didn't pressure myself into thinking 6 months from now I wouldn't smoke. I started the day deciding not to smoke and took it from there.

Also, did get some of the WTA, whole tobacco alkaloid, eliquid. I can't say it was pivotal but some people say it helps. i admit it helped me chill better but I only vaped it sparingly and I don't now.

I hope this has been helpful to you. I so want you to feel the unbridled joy of having accomplished the quitting of the cigs . It's major and you are doing great!!

Congrats on cutting back. You will make it if not now soon. You are headed in the right direction. I used analogs forever (41) and I never tried to quite before now. I enjoyed smoking so now I enjoy vaping. Ask anything here and someone can help you or if you need alittle support; we can do that too....Keep it up and pat yourself on the back. Enjoy you vaping journey.:)
