Hi all of you here and there. I'm new to building decks and I was wondering if someone might have advice on how to best reach my projected goals.

I made a big purchase yet I do expect to save somewhat in the long run.

My current build is a Steam Crave Hadron Pro (400w) with a Smok TFV18 tank running at 100w with 6mg freebase eliquid.

I have in my mind that it'd be nifty to reach 200w and cut that nic amount in half. I'm learning however that higher watts does not always mean higher vapour production. This is where my analytical black&white thinking malfunctions, leaving me in a state of complete subjectivity and questioning.

Since I am enamoured with Steam Crave I ordered the Titan V2 kit which includes the Aromamizer Titan V2 41mm RDTA. With that I got a few 100ml bottles with 3mg nic, 4 Ohmtec HomeWork2 18650 batteries (2547mAh 25.3A), cotton, a toolkit, Hellvape N90 Competition Wire (0.09ohm / inch - 23g), Hellvape FAT RABBIT 28mm RTA and some Steam Crave prebuild coils (3.2 Tri Core Fused Clapton).

...I suspect the latter coils in a dual setup is probably a 100w range so I figure 6mg nicotine will be needed for that.

With all the above I think that I can reach 200w but I can't figure out how many wraps and such. As well, it appears that although one can reach higher watts with fewer wraps due to lower resistance, it may conversely result in a hotter vape and a greater risk of burning coils.

Any thoughts on this? I so much adore cloud chasing but I'm struggling to figure out the ins-and-outs. Steamengine doesn't allow you to set a custom number of wraps to determine wattage output ranges which has been frustrating.

I asked AI and the best I could get for an answer on reaching 200w with the above wire is as follows (@ 3mm ID wraps):

5 wraps 0.09 Ω 178 W 196 W

Any and all thoughts are welcome. You can even assert I'm a crazy n00b wannabe vaping legend or whatevs lol! The 200w range is a lofty and perhaps impractical goal.

Your mod does not support resistance below .1Ω. If you did manage to get it to fire, that would be one hot vape.
That is right too, thanks for that! Yes indeed that may be pushing it. I luckily will have in that toolkit an ohm-reader doohicky for wicking coils and such. (It says Hellvape V2 kit but I'm pretty sure it is or should be 'Coil Master' but I guess I'll find out).

If I get around .2Ω per coil that should hopefully be just enough for the mod to read it; that or .25Ω each. Luckily, rolls of wire appear to be highly affordable compared to prebuilt coils.

It is said that experience is the best teacher so likely no stress is needed in overthinking it and feeling as though I need a physics degree to get everything perfect.

I'll probably use the prebuilt coils in the smaller aforementioned tank and aim for 100w-120w vaping tops therein. I'd be quite dismayed if I were to burn those.

The greatest part will assuredly be the experience over the expectations. It's like planning a vacation - you cannot calculate everything that will happen to a tee.

I look forward to sharing my first ever wicking process with the community. I can't wait... just another week at least! Canada Post being on strike is of mild concern but all's well that ends well.

Cheers buddy LOL! Glad to meet your acquaintance. Those are big pints btw, as they should be. Methinks I will have a great time here.
Hi and Welcome,

Cheers

LOL whoops that's popcorn! Hahaha! I had too zoom in a bit (monitor is a ways from myself atm). Love that Windows magnifier feature (Winkey + plus symbol/minus symbol; zero to default).

Oooh I read somewhere that the Titan V2 Aromizer's postless deck supports triple coil builds. Might give that a try. I'm going from couch to marathon it feels like as sure, Smok TFV18 coils have a high wattage range, they also too have much less surface area.

Not sure what to expect but it'll all work out I'm sure once I get tinkering a bit and get a feel for it. :)

You vape juice vendor will just love you. You wallet ............... the opposite.
They probably will, certainly. That said tho Canada sucks atm! Just a few days ago we had a national tax hike on all vape products with an average of 20% for the average consumer. A 100ml bottle at my usual spot used to cost $40 and it went up to $50 (in CAD, which is $29 USD to $36.30 USD) while that one place in the US I ordered from (not sure if I can mention it here or not) sells 100ml freebase for $10 USD (around $13.76 CAD). They can take my money at that price.

Spending a whole lot now but saving in the long term (no more buying expensive sub-ohm coils for my Smok TFV18). It does get costly, especially here. Thus I am very eager and excited to get into RDTAs.

A better alternative yet would be DIY juice but I'm not too keen on that yet as I reckon it would cost a whole lot upfront and have potential health/safety risks for one starting out. I know one person who makes his own and he gets a drum (from I'm not sure where) of an extremely potent freebase solution. He describes it as potentially lethal and that he has to use special gloves and goggles. Cool guy though! He rides motorcycles; a semi-retired dude that likes playing pool leagues at the local wobbly-pop shop.

Anywho, apologies to ramble there!
