HELP: subtank mini plus RBA

Hi, I have been getting a lot of dry hit from the rba with long drag, spaced ~2.4mm coil @ 0.5ohm, about 20w only, using Rayon cotton. I have tried fluffing out the tails but I'm still getting dry hit.

any idea?

Do you have the rba V1 with the channels or the V2 with the holes in the cover?

I have the V2 and ran the rayon through the hole in one side, through the coil and out the other hole. Then cut the wick to about 2mm from the outside of the cover.
