I know many suggest the 510, but I think I'd prefer a 2-peice setup, the more compact the better, as I'm trying to trick myself into giving up analogs.

That being said, of course, most importantly I need the vapor and throat kick to feel as close as possible to analog smoke. Otherwise I know anything I buy will just become a paperweight sooner than later.

I really like the idea of the super mini Volcano. It comes with 5 sets of 5 cartomizers and is very reasonably priced. It looks a lot like real cigarettes and even has a charging "pack". However, I'm concerned the vapor and throat kick won't be strong enough.

If I go up in size to a mini, it sounds like I couldn't go wrong with a Vapor King.

I guess the issue is not to see which is "better" -I don't think anyone would argue against the Vapor King being the winner. I just want to see if anyone can attest to the Volcano having a strong enough throat kick and vapor to compete with/distract me from/replace analogs or is it a waste of time?

Thanks!

I don't know anything about the Volcano, but I put the analogs down on the 4th day I had my Vapor King, and that was 2 1/2 months ago. I smoked at least a pack a day for 40 years. Check out the Vapor4Life subforum here, and you'll find all the info you need:

My first one was a volcano and it is still working fine (2 weeks) but I ordered some other models and really prefer my 401. Volcano has the nicest customer service and it is a 3 piece (atty, battery, carts). What I don't like about it is the battery life (not good) and it doesn't produce as much vapor. I just got a 510 but haven't used it yet so I can't comment on the difference between the volcano and 510 or 401.

the 510 blows the other two out of the water in regards to vapor production. I still pop out my 510 quite often to sample juice flavors and whatnot.

I also own an M401 (yeah, took me a long time to sort out which model I liked best), and that one just collects dust.

I agree with you though, Volcano had awesome customer service, and were great to deal with.

    I'm in the Navy
Something else that I need to take into consideration is durability. I' in the Navy. I go out to sea for several months at a time and shipping to the boat is questionable at best. I doubt an atomizer could handle the cod flight out to the boat and being thrown around. I need to find the most durable atomizer out there. I don't care if I have to mix and match brands, models (with adapters) etc, I just need something that will last. I know I will have to take multiple atomizers, but would prefer to take a dozen rather than 30 or 40.

Also, I need to keep the form factor similar to a cigarette. It will make my life a whole lot easier when the higher up see me smoking a cigarette that if they see me "getting high off some contraption" like a janty stick.

    Thanks for the help!

HI, I am really new here and just started vaping about 9 days ago. I oredered from Blu as many do. Not the best desicion but i felt like "well i ordred them i just dont want to throw them aside". So what I did was get 510 to KR adapters , fits flwlessly on the blu, I ordered some cartomizers and bang!! Great taste, Good vapor production- turns out to be a great around town unit. But as I know i am going to need something a little more beefy for home use I ordered a Totally wicked Tornado- I mean for the price you get quite a bit and not to mention I have not read or seen one bad review on this item, aka the janty eGo. I went with the version from totally wicked as it comes with 2 attys and 10 carts as opposed to 1 and 5.
    hopes this helps.

I was wanting the same as the OP and was trying to get something close to the size of an analog to help trick me. I almost went with a Volcano, but then after more research, went with the Sidesho from modernvapor.com, which is basically a modified 401. after modding the filler in the cart to be blue foam instead, I get enough vapor and definitely enough throat hit. Their 902 is just slightly bigger than the SideSho and supposedly has even more vapor and taste than a 510. I don't have one of those though. These both are 3 piece setups though. The 902 is easier to refill but not as good for dripping, where the Sidesho is easier for dripping but more involved for refilling. I still find it easy though.

Honestly, I think the Vapor King (KR808D-1/Nebula/etc) is probably the best place to start on the path to vaping. I know I'm happy with my choice.

I spent about 2 weeks lurking in the community and watching every review I could get my meathooks into. Lots of fantastic claims and one-upmanship later, I settled on the KR808D-1 for the following reasons:

    -Easy to maintain and troubleshoot
    -Easy to refill
-Consistent vapor production (even better w/ manual batteries)
    -Consistent reviewer comments
-Abundant supplies (for the moment, at least)
-My wife won't use anything "fiddly"

For me, I had to have a simulant if I was to give up the cowboy killers. I needed the ritual almost more than I needed the nicotine. And I found exactly what I was looking for in the KR808D-1. Sure, I'll probably go chasing after that perfect vape, but I'm happy right here.

Simple, almost hassle-free, satisfying. That and I don't have to drop everything to help my wife when her carts run dry.

The blu and the volcano are the same ecig. I would recommend the vapor king (just a brand name for a kr808d-1). You have many options as far a battery size and type, cartomizers are easy to refill and last a long time, doesn't leak and is supported by a lot of good vendors. From what I read the d510 has more output but is not really as easy to use away from home.

I would go with neither. Everything I have read the battery is the same from either place. The KR8 batteries to better to provide more power, but their batteries do not last long before needing to be recharged. If you are set on cartomizer then I would get
    5 for $8
    5x 510-901 silver adapter(510 bat to 901 at) - E-cig Multi Adapters - Wholesale & Retail Best E-smoking Supplier
    1 for $2
    1x 510-901 adapter(510 bat to 901/808D-1 at) - E-cig Multi Adapters - Wholesale & Retail Best E-smoking Supplier

    and
    Bartleby

    as the power supply

and use those with whatever cartomizers you wanted to order.
in my signature is a quick list of suppliers and amongst other prices I have various site's prices for their cartomizers.
