Hey Artimus,

I'm now hearing there are issues with the magnets on your 4nines, which has
caused enough of a concern for me to warrant a refund. The 3 week process of
shipping also has not helped.

Please go ahead and issue a refund on my PayPal within the next 48 hours.

Lets see what his response is lol.

Thanks for the pics and reporting the issue raptor!

no problem. just wanted to let you guys know its a bad product. also the problem with the atty not screwing down isnt just clones, my authentic russian 91% will not work with the top cap. so i think its hit or miss with your attys. some will tighten and some won't. my cheap 10$ tobh works but not my russian lol

good to know.

hopefully I get a response back soon.. I told him I would take the stingray instead of the 4nine with black KF, but we will see what he says.. I know people who have that mod from him and its been fine..

That he does. Fixes problems promptly. It's just the general communication thing that he does poorly. It wouldn't have been much work to put up a notice on the 4nine pages explaining that they're late, shipment didn't arrive when expected so that people knew what's happening.

I got the brushed brass version from focalecig. It has the magnet surrounded by a threaded copper bushing, very similar to the real thing which allows for a slight battery size adjustment. The black version has the same design for the battery magnet. Only $20:
http://focalecig.com/Product/4Nine-StyleMechanical-Mod-19535
As before ECF mucks up links to focalecig, add http etc to below:
focalecig.com/Product/4Nine-StyleMechanical-Mod-19535

FastTech has models designed the same way, some cost more, some less than focalecig. Look for the models that do not have 1:1 in the description to find them.

I will be replaceing my switch with another one, now the only problem you are going to run into, in my case at least, is that the buttons have a lip on them and the tube has a lip on it. Some are smaller than others so in order for it to fit I am going to file down the lip on the inside of the tube so the button will actually slide through.

I'm surprised you are not asking for a refund from him.. rather than have to deal with all that BS of changing the switch etc..

I just want it to work! Lol by the time I get it working I will be wanting something else which sucks lol

Exactly lol.. thats why i took the stingray instead of waiting for the refund to hit, then ordering from a different site, paying for shipping and waiting again..

I'm hoping to have it by friday..

I think i'm going to trade my e-mech 30w for an authentic AR mod.. which im excited about. I don't care about crazy high wattage..

Well... my black 4nine will be here Friday, along with black nano. Copper kayfun is supposed to ship Friday. He said he checked out the 4nine before it shipped, so we'll see.

So dfwraptor, I'll be going down this road with you of trying to make this thing decent, lol. Post any tips you find here, and I'll do the same.

I appreciate all the info you people have posted here. After reading this I decided to take a friends advise and get one through fluid vapes. It's a yeahsmo version and it's very nice. Only gripe I have is the magnet could be stronger. It still works well but the throw on the switch is very soft. Also, the battery has a faint rattle when shaken side to side. I'm sure that the flat top vtc5s I use aren't helping. Still powers my coils great though. My attys hit better than ever.

I was surprised at how small it is in 18650 mode
It's almost the same length as my nemi in 18490/500 mode

yea it's probably the batteries which is causing the rattling .. it says you should only use button tops on it but since I no longer am getting one I won't be able to confirm lol

And the myth keeps growing.

The Original First release had no Delrin insert in the top piece. The Button top battery is needed to assure no contact with the Top causing a Hard Short.
Even a button top can bridge the gap of an Atty if the center pin sits to high.

A button top can add height for short 510 connections
A flat top can reduce height for Long 510 connections

A Button top (might) auto fire a long 510 atty
A Flat top (might) not fire a Short Atty
