Hi again,
Any method works fine with the 3.5ml. With bigger tanks, it's always best to try to keep as much pressure in it while filling it so it soaks evenly. I'll try to describe the recommended method to the best of my ability. Let me know how it goes.
Step 1: Remove drip tip, and push the replacement cart into the tank about 1/4 of the way down.
Step 2: Fill the tank with as much liquid as possible. There will be a gap big enough to be able to drip the liquid into the tank from the top hole where the drip tip was. You may want to tilt it so that you have an easier time getting the liquid in there.
Step:3: After putting as much liquid into the tank as it can hold, slide the cart back into position, and replace the drip tip.
Step 4: The final step is priming the tank. Once you have it back in one piece, place a finger under the tank, apply pressure, and puff on the mouth piece. This primes the cart from the bottom up. Keep puffing until you can see the top of the cart is soaked. You can check on the cart by removing the mouth piece periodically and while keeping the tank pressurized. Once you see that the top of the cart is soaked, you're done. Remove your finger, and blow lightly into the tank. This will get rid of any excess liquid that may have been pulled in. You can refill the tank using the by repeating steps 1-3. Because the filler material is now soaked, it won't draw in liquid unless it needs it.
The issue with dripping liquid into the top of the cart, is that you can never tell if the filler material is actually completely soaked. This isn't a problem with the 3.5ml tanks since small amount of liquid doesn't create any pressure to keep the cart from fully saturating itself . With the 6ml tanks, if there is a dry spot in the middle some where, the liquid in the tank will prevent it from soaking all the way to the top and every time you puff on it, the liquid has no where to go and will leak through the bottom. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need further clarification. Feel free to give us a call at 844-827-3434, and we will gladly walk you through it. ^GA
