Every time I've tried to rebuild the BF rba, I get super wet hits. We're not talking gurgling, we're talking liquid straight into my mouth, yuck.
Granted, I'm (obviously) a beginner, I've tried 3 times with the same results. coils seem fine. Any ideas on what could be wrong and how I can fix it?

Which BF RBA are you talking about?

Does the excess juice drain back into the bottle? Some of the attys that have been adopted to (rather than designed for) bottom feed have the feed hole too high above the deck.

Have you tried less wick? When you squonk, the wick only needs to touch the bottom of the atty. It should not fill the chamber to hold more juice as per many drippers.

Yes the juice needs to drain back into the bf hole, so make sure your wick tails aren't inhibiting that, also over squonking. It's a good idea to dry squonk, meaning , keep off the top cap, don't fire but visually look at your squonking, sometimes it's easy to think the juice is not getting in, but it is and it doesn't take much of a press

The Cubis rba head? The way I got it working was to add extra wick under the coil. Raise the coil up fairly high (you might need to use the shorter tube), leave one of the wick ends longer and tuck it under the coil, covering the juice holes (not too tight though). If the juice holes are left totally open too much liquid will be fed to the coil and you'll get gurgling.

Joyetech's fault. Naming something "BF" that is not "bottom feed".

Very confuzzling. Someone should tell them.

I'm not squonking , it's on an ego aio. It's just a regular bf RBA. Vertical build Sorry I can't provide more info than that.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but does that mean that the tank wasn't filled up enough?
No....I was explaining that several of us got confused by the name of your RBA.
Because in general, "BF" means something (a mod, or an atty) that is "bottom feed" - meaning juice comes up into the atomizer through the bottom. We call it "squonking" - or "bottom feed".

Anywhere (except for this RBA) you see "BF" that's usually what it's referring to!
Something designed for squonking juice from a bottle up through a hole in the atty.
:D

See? Below- that is the bottom of a "BF Atty". Thus, the hole in it.

Yeah - @Izan's pic above cleared up what you're trying to do.
I can't really help...sorry.

But what's THIS bit 'o cotton? Do you do something with THAT?
Maybe that's got to be put in somehow - and keeps juice from getting to your face directly?

I never realized that internal cotton should be there..I just wrap around. Putting that in could change things for the better! And my coil is much lower than in the pic

It's a fake.
:D
Clone, but with Catfish topnotch squonk-hole in it.
Catfish bottomfeeds top brand attys - or IF they're simply unobtainable (M-atty, Narda) he'll look for a decent clone and do those.

Sorry for the sidetrack - but Chels - looks like we found a clue!!
Now get @Izan or someone who's familiar with the Joyetech "BF" to add some tidbits on where/how you put that extra bit of cotton!!

That would explain the terribly plain packaging! And the awful grammar in the instructions!

Again confusion! Sorry, lol - no I don't think YOURS is a fake.
Vapdivrrrrrrr identified the squonking atty in MY picture as an "M Atty" - which is one of those weird over-hyped products that people could only get if they were some kind of royalty, or willing to pay someone $800 on eBay, etc. So I was clarifying that my M-atty is not a real one, but a clone.
:D
(I DO have an authentic NarDa - but got it at a very reasonable price from an honorable ECF-er who just wanted to sell not to profit).
