Help with build?

So i finally got some high drain batteries and decided to try a sub ohm coil on my igo-l and k100. Ive done alot of research about rbas and what i should look out for if there is a problem. I'm running a 3/4 wrap of .8g kanthal ribbon wire (28g) on 4 folds of 3mm silica wick. I check the resistance on my vamo comes out as .6 I put liquid on the wick and check the resistance again still .6. When i put the igo-l on my k100 i fired it up and it worked. The second time i didnt hear the coil going and the handle for the k100 got hot so i knew something shorted some where. I took the battery out which was extremely hot and put it infront of my AC vent under a shirt. When this happens does it reduce the battery life? I've never had a problem with my k100 which i always run with a protank and when i checked the resistance again on my vamo it still read .6 so idk where the short is happening. Any ideas what might be causing the problem? I threw the other battery in and it worked for half an hour then after put more liquid on the wick and tried to fire it up again same thing happened. I have no idea what is going on.

I got all of my gear from fasttech and i have never had a defective product from them. batteries: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1141101 The batteries have a max discharge rate of 10a and i know i wasnt running more than 7 amps.

Any help on what might be going wrong?

You have a short in the coil, or the coil is coming into contact with the igo posts or deck, and its shorting out as the coil dries from vaping.

Check your connections. Always check your coils for shorts when dry, not wet. Not sure if they were wet when you checked them before.

Also with sub ohm coils on a mech many times you need to sand your contacts down to brass. Either way make sure they are absolutely clean. Electricity flows thru the path of least resistance. If your stuff aint clean u will get burned at some point.

Fasho I was checking that but that's what i thought it was ill check again after i wash it out and dry it. Which part do i sand down on the igo-l just the top part of the post where the screw goes? Thanks for the help, I think its cause I'm using ribbon wire its hard to get it when there's no holes in the post.
