So I have been using the SmokTech DCC tank and the pre punched cartos for a few weeks now and decided to start punching my own. The problem is that it doesn't seem to be feeding the carto properly after I punch them. I punched a substantially larger hole compared to the pre drilled ones and I am not noticing any air bubbles escaping from the hole unless I take a very large (and unusual for me) draw, and not even everytime I do it. The bubbles are also very large from this. Did I make the hole too big/small? Would adding more holes help if too small? Maybe the indentation from the punch is effecting the airflow?

I only have a few more cartos on hand right now to punch so any input on how I might better punch these is much appreciated!

Not sure how visible this is but here is a picture of the size.

There's a thread titled Chibi tanks.. I just bumped it to the top.. look on post #56... there is a video of how to easily punch a carto. I don't think you're supposed to see bubbles continually coming out of the hole. I see them every once in a while but as long as the carto is vaping well I don't look. Your hole looks to be about the same size as mine.

That looks right to me.

Are you getting a burnt taste? Dry taste?
The top of the carto will look dry, that's normal. It feeds into the bottom part.

Just cause it looks dry doesn't mean it's not feeding properly if you get a good vape from it.

Tell us more about your problem.

At the time it was tasting dry and I wasn't noticing the bubbles coming out of the hole. Now it seems to be working well. I'm proud of myself!

I would still wet the top from time to time to keep the medium moist.
As you vape off the juice you will see bubbles as it wicks up in to the cart. You might try a few dry pulls to keep the media wet but not gurgling. You do not want the media to burn... too much.

I added a few drops to the top of my carto (that was in a tank) last week and it started flooding. I don't know if it threw everything off balance somehow or what.. I had to blow the carto out several times to get it back vaping right. I do give dry pulls but I'll never try to top off a carto in a tank by dripping in it again!
