(Sorry if this is the wrong sub-section, little confused on where to post this.)

I'm wondering about hemp wicks. Mountain Vapors is selling a pre-built wick coil at 2.6-ish ohms that I'm interested in trying.

But first, safety and use.

1. With the wicks of Mountain Vapors, his wicks, to me, look very brown and dingy. I've universally read that the wicks are supposed to be boiled multiple times to the point they turn white. However, I may be confusing this between hemp cotton and hemp twine. He did state that his hemp does not have wax on it.

2. I've read that hemp wicks are indeed pretty combustable and, for better or worse, could potentially ignite. I'm extremely worried about this (as I have problems with dry hits) and I don't want flames going up into my mouth! Not saying this is a normal occurence but with my luck in vaping, I'll sure to get the worst effects possible out of whatever I buy. Just to make totally sure, is this actually true, and would buying a big long Galdolf type drip tip help in making sure no sort of heat would reach my tongue if it were to happen?

3. If the wicks from Mountain Vapors weren't exactly the cleanest, is there actually unsafe debris on hemp wicks (oil, machine residue, ect ect) or would it just cause more of a hempy taste?

4. How well does hemp actually wick? I'd actually prefer to use my juices from Velvet Cloud Vapors which are entirely VG (with distilled water) and entirely organic, but I have no clue what wicks the best with hemp.

5. Is it true that, with hemp, that having burnt spots actually does not effect the flavor permenantly? I've read that with hemp, even if you get a drier hit, that the wick will bounce right back with the next hit.

Thank you, and any further advice or tips you have would be appreciated too!

The "just hemp" thread ^ is the best source going right now. The OP and followers have already worked out most of the bugs for you. I've been using hemp fiber in RDAs and Kayfuns now for less than a week, and although initially skeptical, I think it's safe to say that, properly prepared, hemp provides a "cleaner" taste than cotton. Cotton is still very good, but hemp, done right, has it's advantages.
