So here is what i have ordered, i would love comments on strengths/weaknesses of the unit. I am not sure what is better, the "clearomizers" or "cartomizers" and what is a horizontal one do what a normal one wouldnt? Confusing stuff! I was going for a solid unit, with great battery life that will last me awhile while i get started.

Anyway, here it is;

2 - 901 atomizers
2 - 3.7V 1100mAh rechargeable batteries in Black
1 - atomizer/carto cone
1 - USB wall adapter
1 - USB 901 rapid battery charger
10 - Black flat tip cartridges

and
Kanger Quality
Best 808D Carto's available Horizontal and wonderful!
5 pack black.

Kanger Quality.
G4 Clearomizer bottom coil design for lots of vapor.
Easy to refill and long lasting.
5 pack clear.

Please comment and any advice about these cartomizer things and clearomizers, i dont know what they do, and what is better considering my setup.

Thanks!

Congrats on your first vaping kit! I personally have only used 510 atomizers but I've heard good things about 901's. As far as your batteries are concerned 1100 mah should last you all day so that sounds like a pretty good setup for a beginner. I also haven't used 808 cartos or clearomizers of any kind but I've used smoktech dual coil cartomizers and love them! I'm not sure if you already know this much but in general cartomizers are good because you can go for longer periods of time without having to drip constantly. I've heard that clearomizers can be finicky but I can't say first hand if that's true. The only "negative" thing I could say about your setup is that 901/808 threaded accessories are less common than 510 so you will be somewhat limited with what devices and accessories will work with what you already have. Also, I'm assuming your device is 901 threaded ego style device but a link or picture might help.

Those batteries will only give you around an hour of average vaping time. They may give you an hour and a half, but due to battery drain the last 45 minutes won't be great. If you are a very light smoker, it may work for you.

I wouldn't recommend a beginner model with a battery under 650 mAh, preferrably 1000+ mAh so you can get 5 - 6 hours on a charge instead of constantly changing batteries. Those batteries are probably about 150 - 180 mAh.

I think a better beginner model would be the E-Power 510 or the Kgo which both have batteries over 1000+ mAh and are the size of a slim cigar or sharpie pen. Here are several well supported suppliers:

KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

Crystal Clear Vaping

e-Power

Good Luck

Note: Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

The OP said their batts were 1100 mah.

Ummm, im not sure what you were looking at, but both my batteries are over 1000 mah, which I thought were some of the better longer laster ones?

Now im super confused...

Thank you!!!

Here is the link to my kit 901(808d) 1100mAh Black Starter Kit

Please let me know what you think. :)

I have heard about the difference being i cant use the 510 threaded things, so i have also ordered an adapter which goes from 808d to the 510 thread, i am hoping this will open all doors for my unit. I really hope this does the trick, i am tired of smoking cigs!!! :D

The 1100 mAh batteries should last you for most of the day depending on how much you vape.It will also allow you to use low resistance atomizers and cartos without damaging the battery. I've never used the Kanger cartos, but I hear they are pretty good. The G4's I used we hit and miss. I had some that performed well, but about half of them developed leaks.

Yep, I totally mis-read your post - sorry. It looks like you have a good kit. It must be the Riva 901, I would guess.

I would also highly recommend a drip shield. It keeps any liquid that may leak from getting all over and it sucks it back into your atomizer. 901's are known for leaking.

Empire Drip Shields

Now this may seem stupid, but i would only need the drip shield for dripping, is that right? or even with the cartridges or cartomizers i will need the shield? Are the shields universal, i can be sure it will fit my unit?

Thanks again.

Not stupid at all. I'd imagine you won't be using the cartridges very much. Almost no one does anymore as they provide a very inconsistent vape. You can use them with cartos also but it's not really necessary, although they do look nice. At least in my experience cartos don't usually leak. They were primarily designed to work with 901 atomizers.

Thanks!!! If you dont mind clarifying a bit more, dripping is actually taking the unit apart, and dripping the liquid onto the coils?? Are cartomizers and clearmizers for this purpose? Or do I put the liquid into them, attach them onto my pen (cig) and use them that way? Also, the cartos and clearos are refillable, correct? And what are these black tip cartridges? is this another option as opposed to the clearos and such? What is the difference as far as usage/appearance/function, if you dont mind explaining in detail?

Thanks again!

You drip on to an atty/ atomizer. The black tip things are another way to use the atty.
You do drip juice into the cartomizer and clearos to fill them but thats not what people mean when they say drip.
You arent really taking things apart too often. To drip you usually would just pull the tip off or even leave it on with the right tip. I dont drip really just clarifying

No prob. I wasn't sure what you know and what you don't so I didn't want to repeat a bunch of stuff you already know. Dripping is when you drip 3-4 drops directly into the atomizer instead of using cartridges. Although you can "drip" your liquid into a cartomizer to fill it this isn't what people are talking about when they refer to dripping. I've never used the clearomizers but there are many ways to fill a cartomizer. I would recommend searching youtube for "cartomizer filling". You will find many helpful videos. I just found this one but there are many many more. How to fill a cartomizer - (soft top) - YouTube
Hope this helps and good luck!

I just posted a reply to your cartomizer questions on the FAQs thread and saw this thread, so I thought I'd let you know that I've had good luck with an adapter on my 901 Rivas. I clicked the link you gave and it indeed looks like that's what you ordered. If yours is anything like mine, I think you'll like it :vapor:
And may I add that I agree with Dom C on the cartridge issue - they can be a real PITA...
