Hi ecf! I thought I'd join so I can read about and ask some questions about making my own ejuice. Looking forward to some good discussions!

Brands of nicotine are not all the same. There are nics that are peppery, have throat hit, a taste of tobacco and/or mostly invisible. Below are links to the Nicotine Comparison thread.

Welcome.
Welcome @KiraKarla, I agree with @Broodmance, BullCity Vapors is a great place for flavors. Make sure you pay close attention to the manufacturers recommended percentages. I learned the hard way that some recipes call for 10% of a flavor but if the manufacturer only recommends 2% your juice could turn out nasty. I would also study methodology and tecnique here on ECF so you have a good foundation.
Also thank you to @sisu, I had not seen that thread before and I will definitely study that!!!
I knew from reading to get my nic from U.S. manufacturers, but did not know there are different flavors of nic! Wish I read this before I put in my order from Liquid Barn . . . hasn't come in yet so I can't comment on the flavor just yet. From what I've been reading, I thought the older nic got the more peppery it got? I'm vaping a simple Kanger EVOD and so far no complaints. Just found out from ecf that I can restore the disposable coils --> that will be my next quest after I make a few juices.Brands of nicotine are not all the same. Ha! This post caught me just in time - thank you thank you thank you! I made up some recipes using the "ejuice me up" calculator (found here: http://ejuice.breaktru.com/images/ejuice.jpg) but didn't pay attention to the recommended % from the manufacturer - I'll revamp them now with this in mind. I bought juice from Liquid Barn because it is diacetyl, acetyl propionyl, and acetoin free, and also bought a few from Wizard Labs for the same reason.Agree on flavorings. You can always add more flavor but you can't take it out. Start with small batches until you know what works for you.

My local tractor supply store sells pg usp for about $22/gallon. A gallon lasts a long time - store it in a cool, dark, place.
Vg I pick up at local riteaid, 6 oz bottle of glycerine usp in the bandaid section is about $5. I know a gallon is cheaper, but I prefer to buy that in small sets, fresh.
My all day Vape for ages has been a vanilla tobacco. Vanilla coffee and tea flavor, (the diacetyl free version), from nature's flavors, at about 8%, plus tpa tobacco blend at about 3%.
Check the DIY section here, a lot of good information.
Take your time, read up, be careful mixing - nicotine liquid, used in DIY, needs to be respected, kept away from kids and pets. Lower mg/ml nicotine base is easier to work with, more forgiving for small measurement errors if you are doing fairly small test mixing.
I started DIY about 4 months after I started vaping, spent a good couple weeks in the DIY area of ecf reading and learning before trying it.
Good luck, vape safe!
