Hi and welcome. This is definitely a good place to do that. My suggestion is build your first diy order around a recipe that you find here or elsewhere then pick up a few other flavors that sound good. Bullcityvapor is useful as they list what contains bad ingredients and have ratings and reviews on flavors. Unfortunately they don't carry nicotine so you may want to make your first order from wizardlabs. 65 dollars gets you free shipping and should last you till you can expand your collection of flavors.

Hello @KiraKarla and welcome to the forums!!! You picked the right spot to start in the wonderful world of diy. What setup are you vaping on now? Once you have 5 posts, you will be able to use a lot more of the forums and post elsewhere. Specifically the diy forum section where you will get a lot of help to your specific needs of diy supplies and suggestions.

Hi ecf! I thought I'd join so I can read about and ask some questions about making my own ejuice. Looking forward to some good discussions!

I am starting too do so and found good resources here https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/f...cipies-here-please.249287/page-5#post-6529771. You can get flavor concentrates here http://wizardlabs.us/ with a few DX (diketone (Acetoin, Acetyl Propionyl)-free) flavors. A good source of base products are here http://www.ecigexpress.com/ with good tools for preparation.

I DIY. The Perfumers Apprentice is a good place to get flavors.

I bought 120 ml of nic and don't remember the URL.

My PG (Propylene Glycol) and VG (Vegetable Glycerin) i get those from Amazon.com. I have Amazon Prime. I always get USP (United States Pharmaceutical) grade 99.7% pure.

Last week I received a gallon of USP grade VG for $25.

You will need an ejuice calculator. There are calculators online, apps for smart phones and computers.

There is a DIY section here, and some of the online calculators have recipes posted by their members.

Brands of nicotine are not all the same. There are nics that are peppery, have throat hit, a taste of tobacco and/or mostly invisible. Below are links to the Nicotine Comparison thread.

Welcome.

Thank you for mentioning that some brands of nuc tend to be peppery. Forgot to mention that.

Also forgot to mention that some diyers make unflavored ejuice. I can't do that myself. I'm too much of a flavor chaser

Welcome @KiraKarla, I agree with @Broodmance, BullCity Vapors is a great place for flavors. Make sure you pay close attention to the manufacturers recommended percentages. I learned the hard way that some recipes call for 10% of a flavor but if the manufacturer only recommends 2% your juice could turn out nasty. I would also study methodology and tecnique here on ECF so you have a good foundation.

Agree on flavorings. You can always add more flavor but you can't take it out. Start with small batches until you know what works for you.

Essential Depot is having a absurd sale on 4-1 gallon jugs of VG/PG (mix and match the 4 gallons however you want) for $39 to $46, depending on the configuration. The shipping is expensive, about $36, but even with that you will be saving quite a bit.

The deal I went with last week was their 2 gallon combo (1 VG/1 PG) for 43.62 with free shipping. I don't think you can find a better deal than that right now, especially from a trusted vendor.

Welcome.
I knew from reading to get my nic from U.S. manufacturers, but did not know there are different flavors of nic! Wish I read this before I put in my order from Liquid Barn . . . hasn't come in yet so I can't comment on the flavor just yet. From what I've been reading, I thought the older nic got the more peppery it got? I'm vaping a simple Kanger EVOD and so far no complaints. Just found out from ecf that I can restore the disposable coils --> that will be my next quest after I make a few juices.

Ha! This post caught me just in time - thank you thank you thank you! I made up some recipes using the "ejuice me up" calculator (found here: http://ejuice.breaktru.com/images/ejuice.jpg) but didn't pay attention to the recommended % from the manufacturer - I'll revamp them now with this in mind. I bought juice from Liquid Barn because it is diacetyl, acetyl propionyl, and acetoin free, and also bought a few from Wizard Labs for the same reason.

My pleasure Kira. Good vaping to you.

I would recommend that you get an RDA if you don't already have one. RDAs are great for tasting your DIY juices so you don't have a tank full of juice you don't like.

Lastly allow the juice to steep 24-48 hours before adding more flavor.

My local tractor supply store sells pg usp for about $22/gallon. A gallon lasts a long time - store it in a cool, dark, place.

Vg I pick up at local riteaid, 6 oz bottle of glycerine usp in the bandaid section is about $5. I know a gallon is cheaper, but I prefer to buy that in small sets, fresh.

My all day Vape for ages has been a vanilla tobacco. Vanilla coffee and tea flavor, (the diacetyl free version), from nature's flavors, at about 8%, plus tpa tobacco blend at about 3%.

Check the DIY section here, a lot of good information.

Take your time, read up, be careful mixing - nicotine liquid, used in DIY, needs to be respected, kept away from kids and pets. Lower mg/ml nicotine base is easier to work with, more forgiving for small measurement errors if you are doing fairly small test mixing.

I started DIY about 4 months after I started vaping, spent a good couple weeks in the DIY area of ecf reading and learning before trying it.

Good luck, vape safe!

I buy VG by the gallon and PG by the quart.i like 70/30 or even 80/20. The high VG juices
