Here's my story....

Hey Guys and Gals! My name is Dirvo and I wanted to introduce myself. I'm from Seattle-ish. I've been down a long road to get where I'm at. I quickly found out that the path doesn't stop and that vaping is quickly becoming an expensive hobby.

I've been lurking on this forum for about a year or so. It all started when I heard about the BluCig (Garbage I know). This worked for a while but then I want back to analogs. Having to buy their cartos online was what turned me off. Fast forward to about 4 months ago and I noticed that BluCigs were everywhere and you didn't just have to buy their cartos online. I bought a new BluCig kit and started trying to quit analogs again. All was going well until I went out on my friends boat and dropped the Blu pack off the dock and into the water (that's a funny story for another day), probably the best thing that happened. I went back to analogs.

Fast forward to a month ago and my co-worker walks in with an ego set up with a cheap ego 650 Chi-com from a local retailer. He said try this... I did and went and bought an expensively over priced "starter kit". I started vaping over a month ago and am off of the analogs completely. I gave my pack of smokes away that day!

Right now I'm running a 650 ego style battery with a Aspire BDC. It is a waaaaay better juicer than the throw away, plastic, clearomizers, but it eats my 650 ego style battery up fast! So after some research I ordered an Innokin iTa2te MVP 2.0 in Black Grain from 101vapes.com (I originally ordered the stainless but changed it up after the order. The customer service was excellent. I wrote them note and they changed the color no questions asked and it shipped yesterday! Just a quick shout out). I hope I made the right choice!

I'm super excited!!! Now I want a Provari.... Ugh... I heard they're based out of the Seattle area but I can't figure out where. I'd love to know where so I can just go pick one up :)

I'm getting retailed on my juice by a local store. They have awesome customer service but are pricey! $10.99+tax for a 15ml bottle of juice but they have a VapeBar where you can try all of the flavors (which I love) and they are very helpful! I'm thinking of making a nice sized order to Mount Baker Vapor here in the next day or two. Anyone have experience with Mount Baker Vapor? Is there a place that makes better juice and is cheaper? I'm used to a 65PG/35VG mix should I try the 80/20? I'm not in to the oily fast in the higher VG juices. any recommendations would be appreciated and I know that YMMV depending on preferences.

I've been vaping "fire and ice" (Fireball and Extreme Ice) in a 65PG/35VG mix and I really enjoy it. I just buy the flavors at the store and mix them.

So as a newb... will I crack the iClear30 with the juice I'm vaping? Are the Aspire BDC's good quality? I bought the Aspire because I was about to buy a Mini Pro-Tank 2 but the girl said I should try a dual bottom coil. I really want to like the iClear 30 but if it won't take the juice I like... I'm out. I like the Aspire because it's pyrex and it has a metal cover around the pyrex. I've dropped it on the concrete multiple times and it hasn't broken the glass so I'm a happy camper.

Second question is about the Innokin iTa2te MVP 2.0. I know that it's VV and VW. I've read conflicting threads that say you can adjust the Watts and the Volts and I've read other threads that say it's one or the other. So can you adjust the Watts and the Volts independently of each other or is it one or the other? If you can adjust both I'll fiddle with it but if it's "either or" is there a benefit to adjusting your Volts versus adjusting your Watts or vice versa?

Well I think that's it. Thanks everyone! I know there's lots to read. I've been reading for days and about to head over to the e-juice forum after I fulfill my 5 posts in this forum.

The MVP 2 is either or, not both at the same time. This can get confusing as volts do effect wattage and wattage does effect voltage. Depending on the resistance of the coil you are using to get a certain wattage (power) the volts are adjusted. Look up "ohm chart ecig" on google and you can see how one effects the other.

This being said, I use watts. Once you find your prefered setting with watts whenever you change the delivery device (tank, cartomizer, whatever you use) the MVP does the math and automatically changes the voltage to what is needed to maintain the watts.

Hope this helps.

Dan that was so precise you could cut it with a knife, love it! The MVP 2 is really simple to use once you know that wattage concept. As far as the iClear30 it will not hold up to anything that affects plastic. It's a really nice clearo but it won't hold up to citrus juices or cinnamon. I believe some peppermints and spearmints cause problems too. Stick with glass for those. Glad you found a kit that works for ya. Would love to hear about how the Blu's fell off in the water ;)

You will love the MPV, and once you find a wattage that you like to vape at, you can just cruise control between your tanks. I wouldn't get an iClear 30 if you are into really strong cinnamon's or menthol/peppermints. It will effect the plastic tank over time. If you like the bottom dual coil vape with the Aspire, then stick with that system. Not sure if you've watched Todd's review of the tank that you have (pyrex version) but it's really positive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05TaC25czjQ

Also, the Kanger Protank 2 is pretty easy to use as well, and you can rebuild the heads which will make for a better vape, and will save you money from buying the replacement heads all of the time.

As far as Mount Baker Vapor, just remember, there is a reason why their juices are cheaper than everyone else's. I personally don't care for them, but give them a shot for sure. Maybe you'll really like them yourself. Remember that their juices are made to order, so they will need to steep for awhile (1-4 weeks) after they arrive at your house. They will send you a "steeping guide" with your order.

Hope this helps and harry vaping to you!

Dirvo, I want to thank you for your choice of Subject Line (Here's My Story).
Like you, I am new to the ECF and came here to be amongst the most knowledgable people in the world of Vaping.
Like you, and every other new member, I had to start out in this New Members Area and really had no idea what I would say to get things started. I did not read your story (at that time), but your subject line was my inspiration for sharing my story, which I am so thankful and proud to say because of the vaping experience, and now the pleasure of being among some of the greatest people in the world, my story has made a drastic turn down a very different and positive path. THANKS for the inspiration!

Like DetraMental I would love to hear the Blu pack story as well.

By the way, I did a little research on the ProVari location and came up with this http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/289525-provari-made-usa.html Hope this helps if not shoot me a pm and I'll see what else I can find. I hope the link works for you. I tried to do a linkback but apparently I don't know how so I just copied and pasted it here.

THANKS AGAIN for the INSPIRATION!

Stephen

Volts and watts turn out to be the same thing, just different ways of looking at it. When in volt mode, one adjusts the voltage up or down to dial in the vape to ones preference of taste and vape, once their your coil is producing a x amount of watts for the given voltage. When in watt moce, the device reads the ohms of your coil and adjusts the voltage delivered to produce the watts that you have set it at. So whether you dial in by watts or volts, once you find the spot that pleases most, it's the same thing. The main advantage of watt select is that say you prefer maximum watts of 15, and you have different ohm atomizers, one then doesn't have to adjust the voltage up or down to get to the watts they want. And then with some attys and juices, one will still sometime adjust their setting because of wicking, flavor or just to see what it taste like at different levels.

Well here's to hoping I confused you more!! lol.

Welcome to the ECF.

First off ... Welcome from another Washingtonian

Mt Baker has some nice juices, and some not so nice ... just like every other site.
They do have the best prices, Ususally, it's $4.99 for 15ml
But since you live (like me) in state, you will be charged a sales tax.
It's not that much, just irratating.
You can choose a 70/30% base which is close to what you use, or just state what you want in the comments box.
You can choose extra "flavor shots" if you like it stronger.
If you order over $15.00 worth (I think) you will receive a free 15ml sample bottle.
I like to be surprised as sometimes I get a flavor I wouldn't order, and end up liking it.
You can also ask for a certain sample flavor (in the comment box), and they may send it to you.
If you put "vaporfrombaker" in the coupon box, it will give you 10% off
I suggest you start out by trying some of their "sample" packs.
Have fun
