Hey everybody, just wanted to intruduce myself my name is Mitch, as the title states, I'm from Connecticut, anybody in the area wondering I'm down in Norwich by the casinos. I've been vaping for about a year now and have a pretty good knowledge of what I'm doing. I'm into drippers and love rebuilding, even though I usually keep my buils pretty simple. I like doing some cloud chasing but I also love good clean crisp flavor. My usual set up for work or going out and about is a Vapor Shark rDNA 40 with a full size sub tank that I rebuilt one of the replaceable coils with ni200 to use the temp control with. So far my favorite "cloud" setup for a mech is a smpl with a mutation x v2 and for a cloud set up on a box mod i bounce back and forth between a Doge v1/SMY God180 and A dark horse or mutationx on a sigelei 150w (which I just picked up last night and I'm loving it). Anyway I just figured I'd say a little bit about myself so there you go.

Mitch I'm originally from westerly RI Stonington CT area. I have the subtank mini and built the stock coil-heads with 28 gauge nichrome 4 wrap parallel at.4 on my sig 150 it's awesome flavor.

Thats interesting, how did the parallel work out inside the coil head? Was it a chore to get the leads positined correctly?

Hey mreecew and foggyroomz,

I am in Bristol, CT and wanted to say hi also. Been vaping for a year and have only worked with dual coil setups. I am very interested in getting the details on both your best builds. I just finished a .25 build with 24 gauge with 4 wraps on a 2.5 mm diameter in a Dodge atty. Running it on a Sig 150 at around 35-45 watts with great flavor and vapor production.

mreecew, I am very interested in your full Subtank on the rDNA. I have the same stuff and was hoping you could share the details on the build, like wraps, diameter, resistance and preferred wattage and temp settings. I recently built a .1 ohm with Ni200 on a 3.0 mm (M3 bolt) and run it with max temp protection and at 17-20 watts and it gives awesome vapor on the standard Sig-S atty clone. I would also like to hear about your Mutation X build.

foggyroomz, I would like to hear more about the details on how and what you did with the stock Subtank coils

Hope to hear from you soon.

Wow lol ok so were to start....
The doge comes out to .52 the build is dual micro coils, twisted 28g kanthal at 13 wraps around a 1/16 screwdriver, minimal wicking (I drip it every 2 hits) and I positioned the coils diagonal so they would fit better in the atty. So far this is the one that produces the most vapor.

The Dark Horse comes out to .15 if I remember correctly. The build is quad standard coils, 24g around a 3/32 screwdriver, 2 wicks of JOC (1 wick per 2 coils).

My rebuilt subtank coil head has settled (after heating tweezing and allowing to cool) at .22 I used 28g ni200 and If i remember correctly I used a 1/8" rod and did 14 wraps. I like it at 490* usually around 22w.

I also have a hobo that I use for my rDNA I have that built with 28g ni200 at 13 wraps around a 3/32" and it comes to .15 I like that one around 510 to 520 at 30watts.

The mutation is built with a 26g dual parallel at .21 I did 6 wraps around a 5/64's for that one and i usually run it on my smpl.

Greetings mreecew and Welcome to the ECF............................................................Enjoy.............................................................
Thank you very much!

Just curious, I read an article that your state is trying to do some heavy handed regulating of the E-cig industry, IE warning lables, buying restrictions, banning flavored liquids...just wondering if any of that is true and if there is a consorted effort to combat thos regulations?

So far the big things that are threatening in CT are the 2 bills active right now, one being a regulatory bill pretty much just setting a minimum age to by e-juice (18 our state tobacco age) which is a good idea and should be supported and then the other is just a bill about labeling products clearly. Which could cause confusion just because of the perameters around the labeling but it's nothing to serious. I have been hearing from shop owners though that there is word of a ban on public usage which would cause vape shops to charge a "membership fee" to allow a shop to be used as a vape lounge (i.e private club) which would be the only way to allow people to vape or even try new juices in the store. Also there is word of all stores that have a house brand liquid to adhere to certain requirements as far as what the facility looks like, but as of this post those last two propossals are just hearsay.

Nope the parallel was actually really easy I wrapped it 4 times on little blue handled screwdriver you get with your atomizer's it is wicked with Japanese cotton Ir run it at 25.5 watts and it is fantastic. Came out to a 0.40 ohm coil and it fit really nice nothing wonky.

And is that in the rba section or a coil head?

Wow yea, I agree with you the age restriction isn't a bad idea, I just question whether the government should impose it. I just fear that once the door to regulatory authority is opened it may be hard to close. My state, specifically Boulder just passed an outdoor smoking ban and it includes "E cigs". This now treats vaporizers and traditional cigs the same, no vaping inside or outside. That seems ridiculous to me as all the justification given was opinions given out of complete ignorance to the vaping industry as a whole. They don't know anything about it, thus ban it.

We need to have all vapes in all states to get together and get petitions put together on a national level because fighting this in each individual state is going to fail look at what California did. Big tobacco is losing money so now they're going to throw what they have left at the politicians to make us go away and back to smog sticks.

No doubt there, I grew up in CA and thank goodness escaped that place intact...But IDK what they are thinking pushing people back to regular cigs, they are proven to be horribly bad for people and that is a fact. Vaping is the only thing that worked for me and I thank the powers that be that this option was available for me or I may well still be smoking today.
