hey all, I've been a bit of a spectator when it comes to the "e cigarette", i've always wanted to try, but i've never actually got around to buying one. I've got some n00bish question's that i hope people could help me out with

1: why is glycerol or propylene glycol used in these products? does it have something to do with the mist's effect?

2: are there any alternative methods of producing this mist? ie water?

3: is the WHO doing anything about peer reviewing these products? or have they just kind've forgotten about it?

any help would be highly appreciated as i would like to replace my smoking habit with this.

The PG and VG are used to produce the vapor or "mist" as you called it. PG is used in those fog machines we often see at dances/concerts/on TV etc., and no, water cannot be used unless it is heated beyond the boiling point to produce steam (hot).

I do remember reading something about the World Health Organization not supporting the use of our PV's because as the FDA says, there just isn't enough information and evidence available either good or bad - health wise.

Do yourself a favor and grab a cold beverage of your choice and spend a few hours (I spent many days) reading and reading and reading some more to learn as much as you can about our PV's so that you can make an informed decision about getting one for yourself. I don't know how much analogs (cigs) cost where you live, but a carton of my el-cheapo brand I used to smoke cost me $70.00 per carton. For exactly half that cost of $35.00 (plus $5.00 shipping) you can get a Joye 510 (one of the most popular models) starter kit at Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. and well... for me after 36+ years of hardcore smoking I quit instantly coming up on exactly 2 months ago.

I don't even think about analogs anymore - honestly!

Good Luck and Welcome Aboard!
