I started building a Box mod and decided on a layout. I ordered a few 510 connectors from a couple of vendors in the various design. Sealed, small hole center, large hole center, pre-wired, not pre-wired blah blah blah. You know the type, the gold colored press-in types.
Let me say, I'm disappointted in these connectors. After trying to get something to work consistently, I found these connectors are not worth the trouble. Not only did I find these to be inconsistent in their thread depth, but after wiring up and testing these with several brands of cartos, the results were either no carto center connection or a DIRECT SHORT. This is my deal breaker.
I have to say there seems to be a lot of variance in the cartos dimensions too.
I am scrapping the idea of using these and switching to actual ego battery tops I found online.I have a couple of ego clone batteries and they all work fine no matter which carto I thread into them. Only wish I would have ordered them locally because now it's another 20-25 day wait.
