Hey Video making reonauts!

So lately I've been slightly dumb with my cotton in my rm2. I either feel like it's such a super tini tini tiny amount, or it's too thick and ends up pulling and tearing when i try to pull it through my coil, so I've been wasting a bunch. There's so many videos about making coils, but how about some about how you put your cotton in?!?!

I've been using CVS rolled cotton, and i take a small thin piece and roll it up between my fingers and try to get it the "right" size to go into my coils. Everything was peachy, but lately I've just been having issues. My wicks never look all nice and fluffy or anything like that :X

Maybe some pics might help. RM2 was in-use, so I made a quick setup on IGO. But the steps are same.

1 - take ~ 2" x 1" thin sheet of cotton (thin enough to almost see through the cotton sheet)
2 - Initial roll like rolling a cig
3 - twist roll to make it tighter
4 - Insert and thread while twisting (same twist move from 3)
5 - Trim as needed
6 - Fan the tails

Finally, tuck under the coil

it's almost exactly what I do, so now I don't feel as much like I'm "doing it wrong" lol. i just haven't been fanning out the tails like that. I'm gonna give it a shot this morning. Thank you SO MUCH!

I use just enough that I can barely get it through without deforming the coil.

I need to get a hang of silica in a micro. I have 2mm silica...and no skill it seems.

I discovered yesterday that the slightest bit too much cotton mutes the flavor. I discovered today that too little makes things funky too LOL

Someone surely makes a gadget to roll cotton to just under 1/16th? (Hmm, maybe a tiny straw?)

i just always assume i'm doing it wrong Lol. i guess i'm not that much of a nooblette anymore. i had made a few coils around a toothpick instead of a 1/16" alan wrench, and putting cotton in them was so much easier, but i felt, and it could just be all in my head, but it seemed like the draws were much airy-er and weird. so i changed them back..

Thanks! Yeah, there's more than one way to skin a cat. I find the less compact wick has little to no cotton taste even on the first couple puffs. I bet Supe's lasts longer, but that might be because of the unflavored he vapes.

Both excellent vids, thanks. I find the hardest part is getting an even, consistent thickness to the wick. It reminds me of when I used to roll cigarettes, playing with that tobacco to get the same density along the entire length of the ciggy.
