Auto batteries are never sealed. The fact that it is an auto battery means there is a drag sensor inside that senses your drag. If you mean the Volt/Bloog/G6 "leak resistant" auto, the hole is simply moved to the side of the battery's center post as (I think) 2 holes.

Dry tissue is what I use. And make a soft point of tissue and drag it around inside the valley between the battery post and the threaded edge (where it is not sealed)

If dry tissue isn't enough, then use tissue barely moistened with alcohol.

Hopefully no juice went inside. If any did it may make the drag switch sticky, causing it to stay on a bit after each drag. Or it may short the battery.
