Hi, I have been looking at e-cigs for a year or two now, but have just lately found this forum and decided to jump in. I picked up a Gamucci disposable yesterday at a local convenience store and my first order for a 510 starter kit came in the mail yesterday afternoon. So glad I have been reading on this site or I think I would have quit after the first few draws yesterday! So anyway, I have been a smoker for way too many years, had a quadruple bi-pass at 40 and still couldn't quit smoking. I had 1 analog yesterday morning (before I went to get the Gamucci) and 1 this morning, more out of habit than anything and am feeling pretty good about it. I loved the taste of the Gamucci, the 510, not so much. I am thinking I need to experiment with different juices and find something that I really like. I was skipping around on the site and saw several threads about the Inferno T, and I think that is going to be a better solution for me than the 510, so ordered their starter kit last night.
Just wanted to take time to introduce myself, get started on the forums and let everyone know that I think this site is da bomb, and I hope that with experience I'll be able to help someone else the way all of you have helped me. Jeni

Welcome to ECF!!! The eGo-T (Volcano calls it the Inferno-T) is an awesome PV, you will be pleased!

Here's a few tips and tricks I've learned with mine.

Here are my eGo-T tips and tricks:

1 - Never use a juice with more than 30% VG
2 - Stay away from Darker juices (They'll work, but you'll have to clean your atty every other day)
3 - Clean your atty at LEAST once a week, I prefer the soda bottle method - Here.
4 - Make sure your wick is in the right position. If your first 3-4 hard primer puffs (without pressing the button) don't give you a nice vape, use a paperclip to push the wick down inside the needle about 1mm, do this very gently or you can damage your atty.
5 - Make sure your tank is FULLY seated, there should be NO gap between the cone and edge of the tank.
6 - After inserting the tank, rotate the tank inside the atty at least 45 degrees, some people spin it around a few times. The final orientation of the tank in the atomizer doesn't really matter.

All of these have become part of the routine, and I have no problems with my unit at all.

I normally include the section about the v1 and v2 atomizers, but I believe Volcano has switched to the v2's completely now, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Jeni, super congrats!! If it wasn't for e-cigs.. anyway, I'm sure you've heard how people quit analogs. It's replacing one for the other, but the other is a MUCH better alternative and the side effect seems to be quitting regular (analog) smokes. It worked for me because I tried everything to quit, and this replacement served me well. Hope it does for you too.

But I can safely say that the world of e-cigs is as varied as our personal tastes can be in smoking, which is why there are so many options etc. Personally- and I've read many others that agree- I think a good KR808D-1 model for starters is a terrific way to begin the conversion; they somewhat look like and smoke like regular smokes (if you use the auto batteries), and they mimic regular smokes especially well when using either tobacco cartomizers (atomizer cartridges, or "cartos") or refilling them with tobacco liquids. But if you've been smoking for some time, the auto batteries might not do it.. ;)

I myself started with a standard KR808D-1 kit and 18 mg cartos of flavors I liked. Then, after experiencing vaping and reading more and more, I evolved the habit to the point of looking into other units and flavors etc. But for me the point is to quit my nicotine addiction; I tend to forget sometimes that an e-cig is just that- a cigarette (not a cessation unit). The side effect is regular smoking cessation, but it's still smoking. And yes, I like it :)

Welcome aboard!
