Hello, I was looking around at ecig info the net and found this forum. I am thinking about buying a Halo Triton and attempting to dump my 40+yr. analog habit. I have cut down to half of an analog every two hours but I've been stuck there for a while. I'll probably be bugging you with questions pretty soon. TIA

Halo is good but uses a less common vGo & 808 threading so you have to buy their tanks for it.

Here is my recommendation for newbies serious about switching

Kanger Mini Protank 2 Starter Kit -VV (boy, these guys should send me a Christmas card for all my recommendations I do for them)

it gives you 2 high quality VV (variable voltage) batteries (which will allow you to dial in the correct voltage for flavor, throat hit, and vapor production - all important in switching successfully) and glass clearomizers which will bhe compatible with any eliquid out there (some flavors will "crack" plastic clearomizers)

and welcome to the ECF

Welcome to the forum and good for you that you have decided to give up the analogs. Having that strong desire is very important in making the switch to vaping.
Whatever equipment you pick, just make sure you find a juice or two that you like. Do you have a local vape shop you could visit to sample different flavors of juice?

I love my Halo Triton - and their sample packs are awesome! I got the smallest battery (400?) and the 650 because I wanted it to be small -but I do think a bigger battery is in my future for home use :) I dropped my almost 40-year habit the minute I picked up a convenience store ecig - for some it's just that easy!

I just want to say that I didn't particularly intend to give up my analogs - it just happened that once I picked up an ecig I saw no reason to have another stinky...amazing as a PAD smoker that it could be so easy!

the halo triton starter kit is a very good place to start. I still use mine every day even though I have other bigger and fancier devices to use. Just be sure to get an extra pack of 2ohm coils.

As for juice, if you get halo juice, be sure to let them steep for a minimum of 2 weeks before you start to vape them. If you want a good right out of the box 1st day tobacco flavor I'd recommend one of the purity tobacco flavors from heathersheavenlyvapes in 50/50 blend like Shadow, Heavenly Army or Legend. Shadow is one of my ADVs

I have several Halo products and Smokeless Image (same 808/ego treading). Both are good companies with good products. However, if I had it to do over again, I would have started with 510/ego threaded products. You are just going to limit how much you can expand or experiment with different devices. IMHO.

The one tank (or clearomizer) that is compatible with both types of threading is the Kanger T2. The Triton tank is very similar but will not fit on a 510/ego device, while at standard T2 will fit on both. The T2 heads will fit on both.

I would suggest a Kanger Evod kit for a more compatible entry level system.

Howdy, folks!

Bought my first ecig a while back ( a crown 7 LOL) & while it was a decent intro, it didn't help me drop the analogs. I then followed the reccomendation of my best friend & got an eGo - that has helped a lot. Dropped to less than a pack-a-day. Got the same set-up for the hubs, but he's been smoking 2 pad for 50+ years & he's gonna have to take time to drop, so it's been difficult. Got some new juice & different bottom-loading atomizers recently & discovered a VAST difference.

Now I'm down to less than 5 analogs a day, mostly with the hubster, & finding I do not enjoy their flavor anymore. I'm sold on cinnamon flavored juice right now, but will be trying more flavors as I buy more.

I'm fortunate that Vegas has tons of vaping shops, so I can try all sorts of set-ups, juices, flavors, & mods.

Wish me luck with moving the husband along - he's my last obstacle to leaving analogs in the dust!

Well wishes!

I found a local vapor shop so I went on over to see them. I decided to buy an eGo kit from them. KIt was a little more expensive there but now I have local parts and support. I was able to sample the juice before purchase as well. The journey begins. :)

Hi Slimloco and welcome to ECF,

Congrats on the start of a wonderful journey! The eGo is a great kit for folks to start with, and for many, the only kit they ever need. Only your vaping habits will dictate what works best for you.

Enjoy!
