Hi there everyone!
I am totally new to vaping, but have spent many hours trawling these forums and have learned sooo much :thumb: from all the friendly folks on here. I am one of those people that researches and reads as much as I can about everything that interests me, so am very grateful for forums like these.

I had been smoking for just over 30 years and exactly one month ago I tried vaping. After my first puff I decided I would never smoke a filthy stinky again - just like that, finished. I am totally amazed at how easy it has been and know I will never smoke again. I am in good health but am getting to the age where I really needed to do something about that smoking. I really believe that vaping has changed my life, and I just love it!

I went out and bought an Eleaf Pico the next day and have never looked back. I also have a Tesla Nano but it always seems to take a back seat to my Pico. I have three Cubis tanks, one Uwell Crown and the Melo3 that came with my Pico. I have pretty much stuck with 0.30- 0.5 ohm coils as they seem to work nicely for me. I'm still trying to figure out which flavours I'm into, so am trying a whole range of different juices. I thought I would prefer caramel/ coffee/ honey type flavours, but I am also loving some fruity type ones too.

I will definitely get into DIY juices soon and am really looking forward to that. I will also get into building my own coils etc as I am a bit of a tinkerer and love little technical type challenges. Anyway, thanks for listening and a big thanks to the bloke who invented vaping!

Welcome to ecf. Glad you decided to join us.
You will find good info about DIY here
DIY E-Liquid

And there are rebuildable coils for the Melo's here
$7.73 Authentic Eleaf Replacement ECR Coil Head (5-Pack) - 1ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

These are so easy to recoil, rewick. Just google on how to or I think the instructions come with the coil, wire and cotton pack.

:)

Thanks so much Sugar and Spice :)
To be honest I don't use my Melo too much as it doesn't get me through my day at work without refilling, but I appreciate the link. I wasn't aware you could get those, probably because I hadn't looked!

I have had a good look at the E-Liquid section and have learned a lot. Sounds like it is right up my alley!

Welcome, The Wad. As you've been looking around, you've probably already found that we have a great DIY forum as well as a Rebuildable Atomizer one. Lots of interesting information there.
Thanks Hawise! I have indeed been looking at those and the information will be invaluable once I have started DIY. My wife says I should at least use up a good portion of my e-juice collection before I start making my own , which of course makes perfect sense! I'm working on that right now!

Ah, but what about steeping? Some juices get better after waiting a few days or weeks (or even months), so you'll need to have something left to vape while you're waiting for them.;)

Haha, yeah I have a ton of unvaped juice sitting around. Comes with the territory. I recommend finding a vape shop in your area that let's you try flavors. I was able to get a sense of the different approaches without spending a ton. Am finding most to just be too sweet after a few days of vaping so do DIY now and really enjoy being able to make simple flavors that suit me. Nothing too fancy and complicated, no sweeteners added.

Yeah, I will definitely start out nice and simple. My tastebuds still have a looong way to go before they are up to the challenge of being anywhere near a 'refined pallette'. In fact, I am yet to be convinced I even have tastebuds!

Yeah, not so sure my tastebuds have improved much but my sense of smell came back rather quickly. Welcome!
