Ashamed to say I probably smoke 2 packs a day of the Seneca light 100's.
I think I would like it to look pretty close to a cigarette as possible.
On the button issue,is that right where you hold your cig between your fingers in the first place? As long as it isn't all awkward I think I'd be ok with that.
And I'm sure I couldn't tolerate it looking nothing like a cigarette for sure.
Yup, the 510 with manual batteries is for you then.
:D

And if I'm going to recommend one place, it's this one...

If you want something that resembles a cigarette and has a red LED tip then you want a RN4081. It's called a Super Mini. They are not expensive. I bought mine from The Indoor Cigarette Home Page and they sell 2 COMPLETE ecigs for $46.00.

I am happy with what I have which is what I just mentioned. Although, because of all the popularity of the 510, I am going to try the Joye 510 soon from Heaven-gifts.com Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop. I believe that site and Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail have the cheapest juice and prices around for these devices.

Go with the RN4081 or the 510. You can't go wrong with either one in my opinion. And definitely buy juice because those cartidges DO NOT last as long as websites claim. I'd give 3-4 cigs equivalent MAX. But you will end up loving vaping more than smoking. It's the truth.

Morning Dawn,

I'm in the exact same boat you are...newbie looking to get started.

It seems the popular concensus is the 510 is the way to go for your first e-cig.

I'm typically a pack/pack 1/2 a day of Mboro lights when I'm not on the patch or gum...but there is hope!!

If you haven't tried vaping..I must admit it's not a perfect sub, but it gets the job done and the flavors are really cool! The place I bought cigs from in Seattle last week also distributed Envy and a few others. I've come to learn those are the lower end..but for demonstration purposes and a few drags... defintely got the point across. (I liked it...but made sure to take 5 drags or so just and try a few flavors to make sure.. ;))

Keep in mind these are not your trusty lighter and cancer stick. They aren't a perfect translation...but like Katy Perry says... "I liked it"!

DO NOT GO WITH THE RN4081!!! As the more experienced members have recommended, go with a manual switch PV (personal vaporizer) such as the Joye 510, where you control the warmth of the vapor and how long you inhale. Stay away from the auto switch PV's such as the RN4081 that have batteries that will get gummed up with juice and stop working and are very inconsistent.

RULE OF THUMB: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance and reliability. The 510 and now the new manual DSE901 are the two manuals that are closes in appearance to the real thing but let you control how you use it.

Most of us experienced vapers have move up to the premiere PV's that have long battery life (6-8 hours between charges), batteries that cost $2 instead of $14-$20 like the autos and 510 & 901 and provide consistent good throat hit (feels like the real thing) and great vapor. They cost more initially but they pay for themselves due to the inexpensive batteries. I also agree that you should buy your own liquid and refill your carts.

For the MANUAL (not the auto 901) DSE901 or the 510, I would check out:

Ed, is great to work with and their KENT liguid is one of the best.

For the premiere PV's, here are the ones to look at either now or for you second PV:

Dawn,

I have spent days here reading and researching and it was recommended that I get the 510 as well. I have it ordered and really believe that I will be happy with it.

You will find that preferences and opinions range a large area and truthfully, it doesn't appear that there is the 'best' choice except by personal preference. The naming scheme that so many companies use to sell these e-cigs can be VERY confusing and was the hardest thing for me to figure out (I still don't, but at least I've learned where to look).

It seems to me that the 510 is easy to use, works really well, and is easy to re-fill. This is just from what I've read as I haven't received mine, but I really think it would be a great choice to start out with. The e-liquids and occasional atomizer are super cheap compared to regular cigarettes and after the initial purchase, it seems like we will save BUNDLES.

Anyways, good luck with quitting the cancer sticks and hope to see you around,

Eli

You guys are great! Thanks for all the information! :thumb:

I have a question about the button.... where's it at? Is it in the normal place you hold a cig? Is it weird to have to press it every time you take a drag? Just curious.... lol

So the nicotine juice is the flavored part? So that means the only way to have it flavored is with the nicotine juice? Ad the juice comes in different strengths? Or is it just how much you put in it??

How long do the batteries work for the 510 between charges? Do I want to order a second batter when I get a starter kit??

Do any tobacco stores sell these or can you only buy them off the Internet?

You are all soooo much help! I hope to have something ordered by Friday night at the latest!! That's the deadline I'm giving myself, lol.;)

OK I'm checking out Rocky Mountain Vapor..... Looking at the extras that go with the 510, what's a JOYE510 PCC ??? Do I want to buy extra stuff or just the kit? It says it comes with...

Joye510 mini electronic cigarette starter kit
Matte Black
2 atomizers
2 manual batteries
Orange/Red LED

Including
2 x White atomizer(2-hole)
2 x Rechargeable White Manual-switch Lithium battery Red/Orange LED
1 x 100-240V AC charger(US Plug)
1 x Manual
5 x Standard cartridges (no substituting)
marboro flavor, 2 high, 1 med, 1 low, 1 none

Now I do want to order more juice, yes? Is that all I need to refill it and keep a starter kit going??

A PCC is a Personal Charging Case, small enough to carry in your purse. It has a battery that you charge through a USB port, and will recharge a 510 battery 4-5 times "on the go." Makes up for the 510 not having great battery life. It will also hold a spare atomizer and 2 extra cartridges.

The button on the 510 is a little more than halfway down, closer to the LED end than the end you suck on. I've put a LOT of effort into finding a way to press the button while holding the 510 between two knuckles like a real cig, and I just can't make it work. Maybe you'd have better luck! At any rate, it's really no big deal to press the button with the pads of your fingers. Became second nature after 5 minutes or so.

Juice comes in strengths ranging from 0mg (0 mg of nicotine per ml of liquid) to 36mg, in all flavors. It also comes unflavored (in various strengths) so you can add your own flavoring. The right strength for you depends on what kind of cigs you smoke, and how many.

510 batteries last 2-5 hours, depending on how often you use them. Definitely have at least two batteries, so you can charge one while you're using the other. The PCC comes in handy for this when you're on the go.

You can find e-cigs in retail stores, but they're generally the cheaper models, and you're almost sure to overpay. Ordering online is really the only way to go...

Hi Dawn,

I ordered a kit with an auto battery and a manual one because the button seemed strange to me. I was sure I would find it annoying, but it really doesn't bother me at all. I just ordered a couple more manual batteries

The last battery I tried to pay attention to lasted about 9 hours. I seriously have no idea how mine last as long as they do, but I only go through 2 charges a day. I'm an anomaly and I must vape far less than average. The biggest factor must be how much you vape.

I would just order 1 kit to start with to see if you like it. RMV has free shipping, so it's not like you lose anything if you put in another order right away. If anything, you may want another battery if you think you will be vaping heavily or if you spend a lot of time in a location where you can't easily recharge your batteries.
