YouTube - REVIEW OF THE PILOT ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE

hi all,

here is my review of the Pilot (enhanced M401) which i recieved from www.e-cigs.co.uk

now im sure that anyone watching this video will question why i only gave the vapour production a score of 6 out of 10.........so i will tell you!

when i 1st got the Pilot i was getting very little vapour from it. quite literally just a fraction of what you see in the video! it took nearly 7 days of persistant use to get the atomiser broken in enough to be able to get an acceptable level of vapour production. i must also stress that the carts that came with the Pilot were also part (if not all) of the problem which hindered the breaking in process. the Pilot carts have a small inner cart that is a totally different design to other M401 type carts and in my opinion they restrict the airflow way too much which in turn produces a low amount of vapour. when i replaced the Pilot cart with a generic M401 cart the vapour production increased by miles instantly. when i put the Pilot cart back on vapour diminished.

i kept persisting with the Pilot carts by topping up and refilling and finally after the 7 days it started producing a good amount of vapour. i personally feel that if i had just used the generic M401 carts from the beginning then the breaking in process would have been a lot quicker.

i have to judge the Pilot on what comes "in the box" and therefore gave the vapour a score of 6 out of 10. it would have been unfair, dishonest and inaccurate if i had judged the vapour production on how it performs with a generic M401 cart as people would not be getting those with a Pilot starter kit!

like i said in the video, if you purchase one then dont give up straight away if you feel the vapour isnt up to much. a little persitance will get you a very good quality e-cig that looks great and has a very good battery life!

cheers,

scott

hi mate,

i had some EVO carts and some regular generic M401 carts which i got from Mirage Cigarettes - Electronic Cigarette

as you are in the states, maybe someone else would be able to help you out with where to get them from in the USA?

cheers,

scott

ps....the Pilot carts are okay once the atomiser is really broken in but in my opinion they could be a lot better designed.

Scott, when you going to review the 510 with the manual battery? I know you have different colours but im not fusse about that!!!
The big question is.... if you had £50 would you get a 510, EVO or a Pilot?
I got paid today and i'm aching to spend lol!!!

Cheers, Nice review,
Jim.

how did you know ive got a titan with different colours!!!?? did i mention it before? i dont remember saying so! lol

i have reviewed the titan from TECC ( www.theelectroniccigarette.co.uk ) but it wasnt the version with the manual battery. i just got a manual battery on its own to use with it and it is fantastic! but the battery is black and ive only got a white atomiser and white cart :(

now though, TECC are selling a black version of the titan which comes with a manual battery as standard plus one automatic battery. the atomiser has a gold band and really it looks very much like the pilot in the above review!

watch my titan review, but imagine its black! now the titan comes in black with a manual battery then i would say its the best buy out of the 3 you mentioned.

the pilot and the evo have far better battery life than the titan. but the titan produces MASSIVE amounts of vapour!!!! easily the best vapour producer ive ever used...........yet!

cheers,

scott

HAHA, I know things about people, he he. Its ok im not a crazy stalker, you posted on TW Forum that you had one. The question is do I get a Titan for £50, or a Dura-C from ivapour for £55 (with 2 manual batteries and an automatic battery). For 5 quid more I get 5 less carts but an extra battery, oh and the warranty from Janty. Is the warranty honoured?

Really cant decide, I suppose im stearing towards Janty as the shipping is cheaper too...

Desicions decisions...

Jim.

scott....

how do you like the m401 vs the DSE084 since doing both reviews?

for ease of draw the 084 kicks .... and is extremely cigarette like, but the M401 battery is miles more superior. both produce equally good vapour and throat hit.

its a tough one, but if i was forced to make a choice between the 2 then i would probably go for the 084..........plus 20 spare batteries! lol

the M401's do feel like they are a slightly better build quality than the 084 though and look more stylish.

cheers,

scott

Thanks Scott for the video review. This is my first post here. I have been lurking for a while and I just recvd my first e-cig, M401, from dietsmokes.com, and vaping for about a week now.

You are right on the money about the vapor production of this baby, I was so frustrated in the beginning. Now it is getting little better as time goes by.

The atomizer that came with the kit broke in a couple of days. Fortunately, I had another spare atomizer ordered as well. Dietsmokes, is sending me a replacement atomizer with no question asked. I like their Customer Service.

Thanks for the tip on the generic cart, I will have to buy those now. I also need to find the gold atomizer. That looks so cool.

Cheers,

thank you! Would you recommend the pilot as a main ecig or backup?

hi mate,

the Pilot is dependable, robust, looks great and has a very good battery life.............definitely worthy of "main e-cig" status!

just give it a little time to come to life.

cheers,

scott
