Whats going on ECF?

New guy to the forums here, still relatively new to vaping itself also! Decided I would stop lurking around in the forums, and start actually posting here so I can become a part of the community.

I have been blown away by the sheer amount of knowledge held by both the members, as well as the threads that are already in place here. Every question I have had thus far has had an answer on this site, and Im sure if I cant find it, somebody will be able to answer it.

Before I start off on a tangent, I should probably give some background about myself. You can refer to me by my Username here, or just call me Matt, either way, Ill know who you mean. I'm from Upstate NY, and have slowly been working myself into the vaping community over the past few months! I had been a smoker for about 8 years, on and off for the past 2-3. Definitely younger than a lot of the crowd here(22), but I also decided that enough was enough and I wanted to get myself healthy and off of Analogs while I was still young, and able to do so easier. I had tried quitting cold turkey a few years back, and that stuck for about a month before I was back to it, then about 2 years ago I discovered vaping, and bought myself a cheap gas station Ego setup with a terrible clearomizer on top(Think clone of the worst clearo out there in that time). With this setup I was never satisfied and found myself still smoking more than vaping, eventually going back to smoking full time. About a year after that I decided to try again with vaping, and took a trip to my local Vape Shop(Now that there finally was a shop in my area), this puts me at about the end of 2014, start of 2015. I was purely vaping on an Original Atlantis and the aspire CF Sub Ohm battery they had out at the time. This worked for about a month, but I still found myself back to analogs. Fast forward to October 2015, my Aspire setup had sat in a drawer untouched for about 8 months at this point. I woke up one day and decided that enough was enough, and went down to my local shop, bought a new coil and some juice, and told myself this was it. After a few days with the setup again I started to lose interest, until I tried out my friends Mech setup. This was a Penny Mod clone, with a Turbo RDA on top. Nothing special, but it opened my eyes to a setup that would completely hook me on vaping. I couldnt get enough of it, the throat hit I was looking for was there, the flavor was umatched, and the visual of a cloud coming out completely satisfied all of the things I was lacking on my Aspire setup. After this I went home, ordered myself a cheap clone RDA and Mod, and the rest is history. I have made it since October 4th without a single analog, and I dont even think about them anymore. I have slowly started to make everything about vaping a hobby. I have started making my own juice, have been really pushing myself to get good at coils, and to keep expanding my knowledge. Now I am looking forward to joining this community, and learning as much as I can about this hobby, to keep pushing myself forward, and keep finding new and fun things.

So, now that Im done rambling, I guess its time for me to stop lurking, and start sharing in these threads, and start asking for advice as I start to progress in my abilities.

TL;DR: Went from Analogs to Vaping finally, made it a hobby, ready to learn more.

So, yeah thats All I got. I cant wait to start becoming a part of this community!

Since I cant seem to edit the initial thread(Unsure as to why, nothing is innapropriate or spam like about this section I went to add)

Currently still vaping on this cheap setup as well, definitely looking to go the route of Authentic for my mech setup, but for now my Cheap Akuma Clone, and Plume Veil Clone will keep me pretty happy. I've always been impressed with the mod itself, always has been a very hard hitter, and has required very little tweaking to keep it in tip top shape. Eventually I will sand it down and do a forced patina on it once it is no longer my daily driver.

Welcome to ECF!

Good on ya for giving up the analogs. We all use different gear and e-liquid, so don't get hung up on anything if somebody can't respond to you right away regarding any issue. I gave up trying to convince ppl about my choices b/c I didn't think it served much of a purpose. I do disclose it when asked, but with 50,000 vape shops, as many e-liquids, and at least 5,000 different devices there is a lot to learn.

It could be the lil mouse that roared and if I AM talking abt gear and e-liquid I have, I might miss out on a great opportunity.

Thank you for the warm welcome all! @Tommy-Chi I definitely understand where you are coming from. When it comes to waiting on responses I usually just post and forget until I get the notification that somebody has responded. Not my first forum rodeo LOL. Thats one thing that I have learned thus far is that you can never truly learn everything there is about devices, liquid, shops, etc. But at this point Im just trying to find my style, and learn about what will suit me when it comes to my experience with Vaping. Its always interesting to see different view points, and styles that I may not have tried to see if I can find something that I enjoy thoroughly. As much as I love the mech I have now, I know this isnt a forever setup, and something that I probably wont hold onto forever, but It definitely got my foot in the door, and helped me do what I had wanted to accomplish.
